I've noticed that many stratters use the grid radar instead of the overview radar. I'm wondering why? Is there a particular advantage to using this grid radar instead of overview radar?

Don't you just switch between the two depending on the task at hand? In hardware mode as I have no compass points I need overview to know where on earth I am and what direction I am actually facing!

No, I almost never use grid radar, though i've seen others use it mainly. So I don't know why. The directions are pretty much the same.

What do you mean by "instead"? I'm constantly mashing CAPS LOCK to view both radar views both in strat and DM.

i use radar intencly to qurantine my enemies
the golem that is controlled by a radar can be proven to be dangerous i use radar too see the enemy loctation and what they have . and waht defensive power they have
but defensive power doesnot matter with mee
after i set up my base i scan my radar Continuously and see my enemys postion this is how i potion my golems for sucessful defending
howis are extremy powerful if radaers are present

Full overview lets you know your location on the map, so you can plan your strategy or navigate to where weapon upgrades are.
But when attacking a base in strat or fighting in DM, you might want grid radar to attack effectively.

I can't believe you ever won a game without using both radars. Grid radar is for close fights and detecting mines. Overview radar is something like limited satellite view, the look from above. I keep switching between those 2 constantly.

Now I see, I've been mainly using overview instead of grid over the past 11 years hehe.
I'm just now starting to test out the grid radar.
