- download and unzip wanted map
- put all files in addon (.../Battlezone 1.5/addon/)
- find bzn name (i.e. mapname1.BZN)

for MP maps:
- open netmis.txt (.../Battlezone 1.5/netmis.txt) and fill the next line according to previous one, using your .bzn
multdm61.bzn multdm61.des 4 8 multdm61.vxt D Stomp // previous line
mapname1.BZN mapname1.des 2 2 mapname1.vxt S mapname1 // your new line
Note: numbers "2 2" and letter "S" depend on a map. "2 2" means 2 players map, "S" stands for strat, "D" would be DM. See map's readme file for info about that. Sometimes there's no readme at all and sometimes readme contains the whole netmis line, but what you really need is the number of players (2, 3, 4 or 8 ) and S or D mark.
- start BZ, browse the maps, your map should be there, listed alphabetically

for IA maps:
- right click on bzone.exe or its shortcut and send it to desktop (create new shortcut)
- right click on it, properties
- in shortcut tab, target line looks something like ""C:\Program Files (x86)\Battlezone 1.5\bzone.exe" /d3d", add bzn to it, after "\bzone.exe"" (with spacing before and after). New line should look like this ""C:\Program Files (x86)\Battlezone 1.5\bzone.exe" mapname1.bzn /d3d"
- in general tab rename shortcut into "mapname1"
- cut and paste that shortcut into IA folder, with other shortcuts (...\Battlezone 1.5\IA missions\)
- double click on the shortcut, from programs menu, that'll start IA mission

Ok a little over my head, I guess I'll just play when the server is running a map I have. Ya'all should bundle all the maps and make an installer for us lazy people. I'm afraid I'll destroy the game and have to re-install. Some of the games I play have a map folder and it's simple enough to copy/paste to the folder to get the maps working. know what I mean, anyway thanks for responding.

Installing maps is pretty straightforward, but it can be confusing to some people so let me explain it to you step-by-step:

1. Get the map you want, you can get maps by visiting http://www.battlezone1.net/maps or you can visit my maproom at http://www.bzmaps.tk (On the maproom there is only a small fraction of maps but it has more information about what you are downloading).

2. When you have opened the ZIP archive of the map you want to add, extract all the files to your Battlezone "addon" directory (usually it's C:\Program Files\Battlezone 1.5\addon).

3. Now comes the hardest part, open the readme of the map you want to add and scroll down until you see a line that looks like this: "earth.bzn earth.des 5 5 netveh.txt S Earth", this is your netmis line. copy it to your clipboard and open "netmis.txt" in your main Battlezone directory, scroll down to the bottom of the file and add the line you previously copied.

That should do it, "netmis.txt" is simply there to make Battlezone 'aware' that there is a new map in the "addon folder, otherwise all maps like single player and instant action maps would show up as well.

Hope this helps,
Goomba
