Hey guys, I'm sure your sick to death of seeing all these threads! I have done everything I can think of, so I'm just going to list what I have done and see if you guys can spot anything I might have missed.
Crap load of router ports open - used Wireshark to see what ports BZ is communicating on, they are usually 21k~ and 50k~, nothing out of that. So for my router ports, in desperation I have opened 19k-31k, and 40k to 60k, as well as other port ranges that my hours of googling showed up.
Tried to set up a DMZ - my router I am provided with from the ISP doesn't actually support setting up a DMZ so I can't go down this route
Disabled firewall and anti-virus software on my desktop
Disabled firewall on router - still not getting a full connection, what's up with that eh?
If anyone has any bright ideas I would love to hear them! Thanks for the help

You didn't actually tell us what router you have. Opening ports? Well, they need to be forwarded to the PC that is trying to play Battlezone.

My bad, I have a TG585v7 and I have forwarded the ports to my computer (thought that went without saying) which I have also given a static IP and is using DHCP.
They are pretty bad for online gaming apparently so I don't have high hopes!

If it doesn't work, I guess you could try requesting a different router from your ISP. That's what I did when I couldn't get mine to work.

Just as a quick follow up, to all Be* or O2 users who like me, have received this router as their stock one, the companies no longer are using this router because its crap. You can request a support ticket with them and they will replace your old TG585 with a different router (which supports putting your computer in a DMZ, unlike the TG585 they provide).

The new router the ISP sent me has DMZ unlocked so I was able to stick my computer in the DMZ and now battlezone works perfectly! Thanks for the help everyone
