Only Battlezone can connect generations like that. Welcome! You can change those keys by going into Options, then Input Configuration. But trust me, if it is impossible to play start efficiently like that. I started by changing to arrow keys too, then worked hard to re-learn stock keys.

Thanks for the welcome Tried the options and the Arrow keys down seem to register when pressing them, normal keys do but not the arrow keys....

Wow, when I first played BZ, I changed the movement controls from WASD to the arrow keys. It didn't work well, and today I use the stock movement controls. I customized a bunch of other keys though, like weapon link and drop nav. Those keys aren't available in the configuration screen, and require editing Input.map. There's a tutorial for that here, but I don't think you should change movement controls. By the way, welcome to BZ. I somehow missed the part of your post where you said you tried the tutorial. What is the problem? Can't save changes to the file? Try making it not read-only by right clicking it and going to properties.

yesterday i tried to play my good old battlezone (i didn't touch it for years), and i could not not get it to work on vista. then i tried google for help, and i found this amazing website!!! haha i could not trust my eyes. thanks guys for the great job  so so i also tried a while to get my favourite keyboard configuration (with arrow keys), and it finally worked. maybe it can help somone: # THROTTLE CONTROLS # DIGITAL THROTTLE TURBO turbo { + keyboard GreyUpArrow - program EditMode } # DIGITAL THROTTLE FORWARD throttle_up { + keyboard RightShift - program EditMode } # DIGITAL THROTTLE BACK throttle_down { + keyboard GreyDownArrow - program EditMode } and for strafe: # STRAFING CONTROLS # DIGITAL STRAFE RIGHT strafe_right { + keyboard GreyRightArrow - program EditMode } # DIGITAL STRAFE LEFT strafe_left { + keyboard GreyLeftArrow - program EditMode }

Using the arrow keys for movement in BZ just sounds like an awkward setup. Your left hand has to cross over to the right side of the keyboard. I tried arrow key movement via the built-in configuration back in 2002... it never worked well.
