I tested that locating behavior many times, and in my experience it works on a BZ 1.5b installation. If you installed 1.5b to the default location (C:\Program Files\Battlezone) you shouldn't have to locate BZ 1.5 at all.

I already said in several 1.5 topics that this tool shouldn't be used with my beta installer, which contains Ken's beta patch. We can't test 3 beta programs at once, cause things like that mess up bug reports. Testing of beta patch is the priority and without installer that's pretty hard to do, so those 2 are needed. ConfigUtility is useful tool but we can live without it, especially since installer contains shortcuts for SP missions.
I won't repeat that again. Next time someone mentions Config9000 in 1.5 section I'll delete every trace of "1.5" Utility. Wait for 1.5 final release, then release your adaptation of Leinen's proggy.

The utilities in this topic are my own, and are not made or necessarily supported by "Spock" or other players in the BZ community. Use at your own risk. Do not use this to test 1.5 for Ken. He isn't involved with this project either. In fact, even Leinen doesn't know about these, nor was any of his original code used to make these.

Since we recently got NO CD Patch for Red Odyssey, this required an update. If you apply that patch and like using Bz Config 9000, download it again and reinstall it. Then Bz Config 9000 will accept the new patch.

Ok, Im new here but i have a few questions. One is, since I have a Windows 7, Ive managed to get 1.5 to work just fine, but 1.4 prolly wouldnt. Can I play The Red Odyssey on my Win 7 with this config? Or does this config help with getting new maps bc i dont know how to add new multiplayer maps into my game, or which maps I should download first. ( i read something about moving addon folder from 1.4 to 1.5?)
Also, I had one other random question, but does anyone know where i could get a copy of BZ2 and or is there a website with a download for it like this one?

Battlezone 1.4 and Red Odyssey 1.3 should both run fine in window mode aside from high FPS bug and the aqua sky effect caused by 32 bit desktop color depth. Running them in fullscreen depends on your hardware. Post your system specifications and read old topics there for more information. This utility doesn't help with adding new maps, but provides a simple way to launch them. Don't move your addon folder from 1.4 to 1.5, it's much more strict, and 1.4 has a few files that will break your 1.5 installation and you will be incompatible in multiplayer. Don't know where to get BZ2, try Google or perhaps check in the "Mods, modding, and similar games" section.

Ok thanks, I guess another question would be which additional maps should I download first for multiplayer?

I just now updated this. A few changes were needed to make it work again.
1. I made it accept any executable for 1.5. As development continued, the BZ EXE file grew by just a few more kilobytes, so it became "too big". I ditched that check so it won't happen again.
2. Since 1.5 supports sub-directories in addon, checking if the BZN existed was no longer reliable, so I just ditched that check.
3. I removed the "New Map" button on the map select screen since it wasn't working.
4. I made the netmis.txt reader accept "K" as a map type for King of the Hill.
5. I put all the Battlegrounds IA missions in instant_action.txt. Some of them are labeled [crash] because they crash.
I want to eventually make something that looks like the BZ shell for playing IA maps, but this minor update should do for now.

Today I found and (hopefully) fixed a few more annoying bugs that would cause the 1.4 config program to freeze if BZ 1.4 and RO were not installed. I also double-tested the 1.5 config's "locate" routine for selecting the Battlezone 1.5 executable. These were definitely giving me grief when I tested them on my mini laptop. As always, report any bugs or error messages here. Thanks.

The 1.5 Utility now checks if BZNs exist again, but this time it checks addon and all sub-folders. This is potentially slow if you have a lot of sub-folders, but hopefully it won't take more than half a second. BZ internal build pops up a bunch of warnings if the BZN doesn't exist, so that's one good reason to have this check.

I updated this once again, now it alphabetizes the multiplayer maps, and it groups them. It first lists IA maps of course, then strategy maps, then DM maps, and finally KOTH maps (there's only 1 stock KOTH map and this only applies to the 1.5 utility).
