Hi guys,

I've been watching your progress here. Doing some amazing work.

A small group is working on something they want to call Battlezone 3: Project Genesis, however the final name will more likely be something else for a lot of various reasons.

To see what they are doing see http://Battlezone3.com/forum/index.php

This group wants to remake Battlezone in the Unreal Development Kit with a continued storyline blending into a Battlezone 2 storyline.
Naturally a continued storyline will show advances in technology, so original models and maps will only be used in the starting scenes of BZ1 and BZ2 in the storyline.

I was looking for advice on *.vdf and *.sdf model importing. This is important to the storyline to create modified versions of the ships to look like technically advanced versions of the originals.
Also sorting out the *.mat files format for maps would also help a lot.

You see the storyline between Battlezone 1 and Battlezone 2 took a giant leap from steam power from gysers to biometal created power generators( The exact trivia is not important).

The main goal is a storyline which takes off where BZ1 left off, leading eventually to a sideline story of BZ2 leading to BZ2 advances.
Porting BZ2 for the most part is already done, I am writing a walk through to show others how to port BZ2 maps to UDK. I am leaving the model work to those who know it best, but they will need info on BZ1 models.

Thanks,

Thanks,

BZ3 dream is old news. I really doubt that it will become anything, knowing that BZ's poor excuse for a sequel (Combat Commander) was a total flop. Why not stop wasting time on silly BZ3 dream and help test the 1.5 patch, which is actually being worked on by a BZ programmer?

I'll stop by now and then, giving the latest version of BZ1 d3d9 a try, post a few observations, but this Unreal Development Kit has caught my interest.
Whether or not the BZ3 group ever accomplishes anything is nothing compared to what I can learn about the UDK just from helping them.

Be well and best Wishes to Ken Miller.
