Morons from BZU forum banned me while I was helping Ken Miller testing his proto-patch exe. To be precise, TheJamsh did it, 20 years old kid whose biggest achievement in life is becoming a moderator of some silly forum. They were mad cause I was doing the real testing while they were posting off topic, unable to help Ken, cause they never played BZ1.

It's ok, I planned to stop posting there anyway (Ken Miller got PM with me saying that before I got banned). What's not OK is them playing with my banned profile. Under "Website" I had "www.battlezone1.net", now they put BZU forum link there.

I strongly suggest everyone not to register or post there, cause who knows what are they capable of doing. They might start playing with you "gender", edit your posts with their thoughts, or even start fully posting in your name.

Ken knows about our topic here - http://battlezone1.freeforums.org/experimental-build-t895.html, so if you have to say something to him, do it on this forum, where admins and mods don't abuse their "powers".

Edit:
I just saw they also deleted my posts in which I was reporting test results.

I registered at BZU, and they banned me before my account was even approved. Then they unbanned me. Today I got email that my account is approved. But I don't think it's safe to post in light of the fact that they think forum admin powers makes them some kind of "god" or "wizard" or "celebrity".

Before I got back into Battlezone, I found a forum called the "All mod GMC", which is a ripoff of the real Game Maker Community forums, and here's the catch: EVERY SINGLE MEMBER STARTS OUT AS A MODERATOR. It's truly madness. I registered there years ago and saw what a circus the forum was. There's a lesson to be learned here. Silly powers on some obscure Internet forum don't make you any less pathetic than you were before you got them. All you'll end up doing is banning people because you think it's funny or amusing. It's not funny or amusing, it's pathetic. When BZ1 Community is trying to converse with BZ programmer, it's even less of a laughing matter. We're trying to have a new patch made for an old PC game, this is a serious matter. BZU admins crack jokes that aren't funny and say dumb things, like what they said to Spock, "You're getting cheeky again". What does that even mean? "I might have to ban you." For what? For testing proto-patch and reporting what's wrong so Ken can fix it? All you silly BZ2 players go back to playing BZ2. Leave BZ1 players and Ken Miller alone. Battlezone 1 is a game you don't play, and we're having a patch made for it. Buzz off.

Sounds like they think they're hardcore controlling a forum like that.

That is just, um, awesome I guess? Maybe they should move out of their parents basement
Maybe they're mad that Ken isn't helping them make BZ2 better? That would take twice as long with those numb nuts assisting.

I've always wondered how the situation would unfold if you met your nemesis, by coincidence, in real life (and you both knew it). Where would their mod powers be then?

Seems like they're easily "pissed off". I used to be like that a few years ago. I became BZ hacker for a while, back when BZ was still played on the old crappy 911 server. I was pissed off at reaper AKA Dx and his gang of BZ hackers and hacked back and also hacked everybody else. It's not an excuse for my behavior. What I did was wrong. Do you see my point? Just because somebody makes you angry, or has a different opinion, or doesn't agree with you, is not good reason to do a silly forum ban or any other form of retaliation. I think I've had sparks fly a few times between me and the admins/mods of this forum. But we settle our disputes via PM, not arguing in a thread or silly bans. What happened to banning for legit reasons? You know... like spamming, flaming, vulgar language, hacking, etc. Come on, graduate from preschool already.

A ban is good when it's in the correct hands. :)

SILENCE!!! ... ... I KILL YOU!!!

now becomes

SILENCE!!! ... ... I BAN YOU!!!

You have to see Jeff Dunham's "Dead Terrorist" ventriloquist act to understand the analogy.

Though judging by their maturity level there, their voices probably sound much like the one at 2:04

And for all those who are wondering WHY links to BZ1 installers are no longer allowed.

NO it is NOT because BZU/BZ2 players hate BZ1...

It's my fault actually. Not Directly mind you, but It was because of a post I made containing a link to the BZ1.4l Club installer a year ago.

I made a post for someone containing the installer for BZ1, assuming it was legal since all the BZ1 sites had one up. The next day I find out I'm banned from BZU for a week and wondered why.

Apparently somebody didn't like the fact that I posted it, so they reported the link as an illegal download to the web site provider. They in turn called CmptrWz and insisted he remove the link. Instead he removed the topic and banned me from posting for a week. BZU almost got shut down because of it.

Thats why the admins/moderators here are so harsh about that.

Both of those topics are there because of me.

So, Somebody who had made something inside the BZClub1.4L installer complained that Cmptrwhz (sombody they didn't like) was hosting/posting links to it. I wonder who that was...

I also plan to do some asking around about who was the one who deleted random topics without just cause.

Seems a bit harsh to ban you straight off, it's not like you did it intentionally.

Without going into legal/illegal discussion, I will just say that if any BZ installer was illegal, the site which hosts it would have been shut down before some silly forum who has only a link to it.

Anyone who has been in the BZ world for the last 2 years and who can think with own head, can easily sum 1+1 now. If are not one of those, I'll do it for you...

First thing you should know is that reaper made 1.4L installer (YG Kahless and YG Killer Instinct only picked YG maps for it). He zfs'ed all custom files with the tools only available to him, so he was the only one who had "something" inside of it. To be precise file is called BzClub.zfs. Now take a look at CmptrWz's posting date (April 2008).

You know what happened shortly after? BZClub forum quietly stopped supporting BZ1 (including their BZClub1.4L installer), and reaper released BZE.

Coincidence? I don't think so.

So I've been a member of BZU for quite a while now and it seems I totally missed out on the "OMG THE BZ1 GUYS ARE SUCH NOOBZ" talk over there, but I drop by here and I see Ken's thread about 1.5, and four pages of hating on the BZU guys. Why is there so much hate between the two? I get why this community's mad at Reaper/Dx, but what I don't get is the animosity that you guys think exists between the BZ1 and BZU communities. Maybe we're not the two most united of communities, and I do understand the complaint that some of the mods at BZU are young and a bit rash, but it seems there's something more -- sure, Spock was banned for a bit for linking to this website (which offers a bz1 installer), and I agree that he shouldn't've been, but they are clear about no links to warez (as they have a right to, after the host was contacted by the ISP about a certain link a while back), and even though he did ask a mod (and a respectable one at that, Avatar) if it was ok to link to a bz1 site, Avatar didn't expect the post to come with a "free bz1 download" proclamation.

So, what I'm saying here is that tensions are running high, and that latest episode is just that -- the latest episode.
Would someone please explain to me as neutrally as possible what the beef is?
