Ok, I was looking through here, and I didn't see any topics about Campaign. I figured, oh well, no one cares about the original story line, but me, so I decided to just put a topic out there. So please, tolerate my ranting for a few.
This topic is about most hated enemies on campaign.
When I first started playing back 6 years or so, before I lost interest, I used to play on this old omnibook with a 95 OS. BZ was laggy, but it worked. So I played campaign for a bit, and really started to develop this dislike for the CCA, even when I played as them. But that was replaced real fast when I arrived on Titan. There, I felt sorry for them, cause they were about to get mauled by 1st Platoon (I am pretty sure the Stars and Stripes troops are first platoon), and I was ready to rumble. But I had orders to NOT engage the CCA, which pissed me off, but hey whatevs. So I rescued the NSDF troops, and kept hearing about the Furies. I remember thinking "Didn't we stop research on the furies?" Apparently, the CCA did not. Then I saw my first Fury. I was just chilling with my Grizzly, waiting for the next gang of Flankers to come visit. Then I saw this blip on my radar.
I went to check it out. It was a hopper (for those who do not know this term, there are two types of furies. Hoppers are the ones that you first fight, they literally "hop" up to extreme altitude, then go REALLY FREAKIN FAST to another location, then descend and start mauling. Tanks are the tougher ones that just stay on the ground, and look like saucers with cylinders on the sides). Since it is red, I use the "I" key to ID it, see fury, and start shooting. It ran, and I tried to chase it, but let's face it, Grizzles are not suited to chasing Furies. It descended next to my Gun Towers (poor thing) and got sodamized. Next thing I know, I am allied with the CCA and fighting the Furies.
So I say this now. I HATE FURIES!!!! On easy, they are annoying. On Medium, they are actually dangerous. On hard... sufficed to say, the second to last mission was borderline impossible... So... Many... Furies... Not only was their a million and one of them, but they are tougher than walkers, and those Bolt cannons and WASPs HURT!!!! (for the record, WASP is like a comet cruise).
So I did what any good commander does. I got a bomber. I got another bomber. I got into one of them, and had the other follow me around. Then I went Fury hunting. And I mauled their oversized, overpowered, overnumbered behinds. And then ran back to base to reload and repair, and hide from hoppers... which thought it funny as hell to drop in behind the one unit that cannot turn to save it's life.
So, if you don't fall over laughing at me, please post your most hated enemies on campaign mode, reason why, and what you did about it.

Heh, yeah, most people say that those who do campaign only suck, but I lived on campaign for a few years, so I think it's alright. Btw, those IA maps are a pain. Run Away! is the worst... So many golems...

I still play the campaign. It's fun even when I know exactly how to win. The first encounter with the CCA Walkers? I take them down easily with dual SP from 200m away. I even stay near hangar and supply while taking them down. It still makes me laugh on the 1st Mars mission where every time an attack wave is destroyed, that one guy keeps freaking out... Him: "Oh yeah!!! All enemy units destroyed!" Me: "All too easy. " And a tip for the Final Mission of NSDF Campaign: Don't get ejected away from base! When you land, you'll likely get trapped in a pit and be unable to climb out due to the turbulence of the shaking ground. A commander will call for you to return to the Recycler after taking out the thrusters... in the pit... "Where are you Grizzly 1!?!? We have to get out of here!". As I struggled to climb out of the pit in vain... he calls again... eventually, my 3 minutes are up. I am left behind. Left to die on Achilles. Don't let this happen to you!

I was under the impression that the max range of the SP-stabber was 200m... hm Yeah, I remember the mars missions... the first one was just insulting... not nearly enough CCA tanks... I set up 4 turrets on the ridge, and they slaughtered the fighters... was entertaining.
Then the tanks showed up, and my turrets cut them apart. Was sad really. But the one after that, the factory mission... PAIN IN THE REAR... bombers are annoying to destroy...

For the 1st Mars mission, I play like this:
Order Recycler and Factory to go to a geyser.
Build 2 Scavengers.
Build a tank.
Order it to defend Recycler.
Take out attackers, fighting with my tank(s).
As scrap permits, I build more tanks and have some defend Recycler and some defend Factory. By the time it's time to take a tug to pick up the relic at Nav 5, I have several tanks to defend my base. I build the tug and have it follow me as I head towards Nav 5.
Once I'm 250m away from Nav 5, I hop out of my tank to see if I can snipe the 2 fighters without reloading my snipe ammo. I usually end up sniping them both after reloading once or twice. I then have the tug pick up the relic, then I order it to Nav 3 (SW Geyser, where my base is).
I drive back to base while commanding the Factory to build more tanks. If tanks get very low on hull or ammo, I recycle them and build new ones. When the CCA attacks from the rear, I laugh as the tanks that defend the Factory start shredding them while the ones defending the Recycler are heading over to join the fun. After all units are destroyed, I look for pilots to pick off from a distance with my sniper rifle.
Great fun. Hehe.

Good plan, but this is how I like my first mars mission: I go to the NW geysers (more scrap), and have the recycler on the southern geyser, MUF on northern one. Build 2 scavs, and then a pair of turrets. Put turret up on the small rise directly to the east of my base. Then as scrap permits, build two more turrets till I have four on that rise. Then I go out exploring in the direction of the CCA base, and kill off the fighter patrols and the three turrets in the huge scrap field in the middle of the map.
I have my MUF build a pair of tanks and a tug, then have my recycler constantly building Ammo (what can I say, even though my aim is good, I still go through a lot of ammo with my stabber...) and then go check out the CCA dudes at nav 5. After that, I just murder those fighters with my tank, have my tug go pick up the relic, send it back to my recycler, and head back to ambush the CCA back attackers. When they die, I just have my scavs pick up what is left of them, build some ammo and repairs. Once I have a decent amount of ammo and good hull, then I just wait for the last attack wave (usually three flankers and a pair of Czars) kill them, and mission over. My two tanks are just in case I miss anything.
Once I even killed off everything before the CCA tug caught mine in my base. Was really funny.

On that Titan mission where I send the APC to the rescue beacons and I'm supposedly not supposed to attack the CCA, I always end up wiping them out anyway since they keep attacking me. When their scavs come picking up scrap near me and their fighters and turrets dare to even aim at me, I decide to end it... I wipe them out except for that barracks which is indestructible. I wipe them out and later, the cinematic happens: Him: "Commander, I have some disturbing news for you... those are NOT NSDF forces attacking the CCA base!" Me: "I beg to differ, and by the way, what base?" ROFL

I tend to just ignore the base. But yeah, that is kinda funny. I ignore it, cause I don't need the scrap near it, and the towers are good for distracting the furies, and keeping them from launching wasps at my base.

On the first mars mission, I just build up a defense and lead an attack force to attack the CCA base(even though I was ordered not to). I waste the base and the General gets a bit pissed. General Collins: Grizzly 1, had you not succeeded I would've thrown your ass into the slammer, but you did it, good job. But if you EVER disobey my direct orders again, I will see to it personally that you are deserted on the most remote part of this god-forsaken planet!!! Now get back to base to clean up any remaining attack waves. After I get the relic back to base, all enemy units are destroyed. I win

After the first CCA attack wave. Relatively easy to destroy with only 4 Fighters and 4 Turrets defending it.

If you left your base undefended when you attacked the CCA base, it's possible that they got your Recycler. If you lose your Recycler, you fail.

Anyone ever jumped the gun on the 1st mars, headed down to the relic before they were told? It's defended by about 4-7 fighters, not 2. Much more of a challenge than just a pair of them.
