I get this error when trying to launch 1998's RO:



Unfortunately for me, I can't install the original BZ because the splash screen stays stuck. I can play the game on my bro's computer, but because the fps exceeds 60, the computer AI vehicles go and shoot way too fast and the video is all choppy.

are you using the installer from battlezone1.net? and did you move the folder after you installed it? I think you can solve this problem by editing
the register.

Yes, I'm using the installer from here, no I did not move it, and I fixed it by uninstalling my BZE client and reinstalling BZ98.

If anybody is wondering why I had a BZE client in the first place, ask Spock; I've told him about it.

EDIT: Ok, now it's acting up again. How do I edit the registry?

BZ98 installs BZ and RO and modifies the registry properly. If you are having issues that means you installed another BZ afterwards, which confused RO. Since BZ in BZ98 is as same as the original, there's no need to have 2 versions installed. If you for some reasons decide to do that anyway, install BZ98 last. Like that its registry won't be affected.


What you mean by "splash screen stays stuck"?


In HW mode, you can (and you should) limit FPS to 60. Check FAQ.
