Yes, you can kill pilots in the air.
Yes, you can shoot white ships.
Yes, you can use Blast.
Yes, you can use R(ed)F(ield).
Yes, you can guard MAG or any other weapon.
Yes, you can mine power ups.
Yes, you can mine stack.
Yes, you can eject.
...but you can also choose not to. It's up to you.

These are not game rules, but you shouldn't:
- team in F(ree)F(or)A(ll) games (going harder on certain opponents is not teaming, it's a FFA choice; a pro doesn't go equally hard on a noob and on a vet)
- rejoin to reset poor score (although it's ok to change ship)
- kill A(way)F(rom)K(eyboard) person over and over
- ALT TAB (if you have to check something first press ESC, then ALT TAB)
- having other programs opened while playing, or downloading (it lags the whole game for everybody)

After thinking about it some more, there can be rules in silly DM... rule is the name of the game.
Let's say DD40 hosts "Coli no blast"... that means blast is not allowed. Or someone hosts "CCA vs NSDF"... that means you have to pick CCA or NSDF ship (should be equal number when possible) and fight in teams. There are more "gamename" rules, but I think you get the picture...
But the thing is when you are in a regular game, no one can tell you what you can and what you can't do, cause by default there are no rules.

Don't kid yourself, you can't put anything in the game name. "No blast" is very clear rule, you can't use blast in that game. "Bombers only" is clear too, there are only 3 bombers to pick. But "MAG safe" has no clear meaning, therefore it can't be accepted as a rule.
If you think I'm wrong, prove me wrong, but don't forget to answer on these: Where's the MAG line? What if I (in green) chase someone (in red) to the MAG... I should let him pick up 2nd MAG and kill me with 1 shot, instead finishing him off before he gets it? I was a Bdog on Pyra and I wanted to pick up Minigun but dual MAG got me while I was on it... why would only MAG be safe if there are more weapons on the map? I'm a Wolvie and I can't pick cannons (MAG)... why would I wait for a Stealth to pick up 2nd MAG when that lowers my chances to destroy him? Do I have to wait for you to charge both MAG's too? And so on, and so on...
If you want to pick up your damn MAG in peace, play MAG Arena or some map like that, where you have more than 8 MAG's on the map. Don't ruin normal DM with "I thought MAG was safe" tears.
How is
natural gaming (do-whatever-you-want-when-in-silly-DM) going on? Did eternal noobs and crybabies finally learn how to play this game or there are still those who whine about "rules"?
