Most who have been playing BZ for more than a week know about E-W bug. Those who don't, should check these videos to avoid (I hit you, but you didn't take any damage) confusion.
When in straight E-W line and when the distance is greater than approximately 30m you can't damage your opponent. On your screen it will look like a hit, but on opponent's it will look like a miss.
When in N-S line or in any other position everything is normal.
Only thing you can do about it is to watch radar and never shoot when heading E-W.

Well, you have about 350 degress to play with, but at some time or another you'll unknowingly fight someone E-W and won't know it, unless you constantly watch your Terrain radar.

I never noticed it, but hell, how often are you and your opponent sitting E-W of each other trading blows?
The thing is that some of the best maps are made in N-S/E-W line. Take Corner Pocket and Compass for example. You can't avoid shooting E-W there. Then there's Coli DM map...
