Now that I have you unbanned and we are on neutral terms, I have a proposition for you. I'd like to challenge you to a DM so I can have the chance to play, as you call yourself, a real BZ pro. Don't worry though, this won't be too hard, the rules will be entirely in your favor and you will have multiple options.

Oh, and by the way, I was telling the truth when I said my FPS range is around 11 - 30 in 640x480. I have a Tablet PC, they generally can't run games like Battlezone very well. I also lowered my visibility so I can get reasonable FPS. You know all about technology and video cards, you should know that:

I don't care about real life comparisons between each other anymore, this is all about BZ. It all boils down to genuine BZ skill.

You say you're a real BZ pro, and that you embrace all aspects of the game. Well my friend, lots of BZ vets like to occasionally do 1v1 DM challenges. We do this because we get a chance to learn each other, how the other moves and thinks, their strategy. Yes, there's strategy involved in DM. 1v1 DM is a part of Battlezone, so if you're a BZ pro you should have no problem. You can't expect to come into BZ with 3 years of online experience and say what aspects of BZ are more important than others. In the old days, we used to handle our disputes in 1v1's, now we do it on the forums. Now's the time you have to back up your own definition of a BZoner.

Now, let's get to the details, here are the options I have set out for you. Remember, this is a DM:

Winner: You must beat me with a combined score of 10 before I can get to 5.

Option #3
Type: 3 v 1
Challengees: Spock, HAL 9000, and friend
Map: Mag Arena
Pilot Kill: Off
Snipe: Off
Winner: You must beat me with a combined score of 15 before I can get to 5.

Now it gets juicier. If you beat me, you can take screenshots, post them all over your forums, talk about me, drink champagne, and enjoy the victory. If I win, I won't take a screenshot, I won't harass you, I won't post about it on the forums, and I will not indulge in my victory, I'll just let you live with your defeat- you have my word. Oh, and in the 2nd two options, since it's a 2v1 or 3v1, if you break any of the rules, then I will take a screenshot and win by default and post it on the forums.

This challenge is designed for you to beat me. I'm at 640x480 in window mode with an average of 25 fps, and you have a chance to take me 3v1, decimate me, and take as many screenshots as you want and completely indulge in your victory. If you really beat Jester while he was playing at 200 fps, then you should have no problem beating Oc Xtreme in a 3 v 1 when he has 25 fps.

I intend for this to be a friendly deathmatch. I'm not trying to anger you and I'm not trying to lower your reputation. I'm just tired of playing hide and go seek with you and I want a real match. I deserve it out of you.

You shouldn't write posts like that without knowing the basic facts about Bz.

Bz = strat
DM = part of strat
Bz ≠ DM
strat ≠ part of DM
strat ≠ DM
...

Some of those are obvious, but some are not for a magger like yourself. You think DM and strat are equal parts of Bz, just because you can host DM or strat map. Wrong.

I'll try to explain that with a real life example. If you are a basketball player, you have training part and you have the real match part. On a training you run, shoot free throws, shoot 3 pointers, practice actions etc. When real match comes you do all that, all you have practiced, learned on a training, and you use it in the real game, the game that counts.

You can say that free throws are part of a basketball game, because you do those on a training and during the real match, but you can't say that a guy who only does free throws, in his back yard, who never plays the real game, is a basketball player. He's only a free thrower.

You are smarter than average DMer so this is only for those like Jester

With that said and with knowing you never stratted, you can't call yourself a vet, a pro or something like that. Maybe you are a pro magger, but you are not a pro Bzoner. In fact, you are not even a noob Bzoner.

Bzoner = stratter who can DM

Now, if you beat Bzoner in a DM you are not better than him. You just did better on a morning practice. If any win counts, it's the real game win (strat), not the one from the training (DM).

You know very well that I'm not saying this as someone who can't DM (see other silly DM topics). I just don't consider DMers as a real Bzoners. I try to avoid silly 1on1 DM's cause I find them boring, but whenever I play those, I humiliate my opponents, because guys who challenge me (Jester, Tailspin, Painstalker, Bart...) are only big mouth, no real skills (besides thier high FPS skills).

I'm exposed person and people offer me 1on1 DM few times per day. For comparison, I can hardly get 1on1 strat, maybe few times per week, cause people are too scared. Where would I get if I accepted every 1on1 DM? I would probably become a magger. I don't wanna be that.

Don't worry, we will play silly 1on1 DM, with no rules (2on1 is too silly cause you wouldn't get a single kill and you know it), but we'll do it when I will feel like it (I must feel very bored). On the other hand, if you want to strat we can do it anytime.

P.S. Everybody knows you don't run 17 FPS cause that's unplayable. Pic with 17 FPS isn't proof of your general FPS.
P.P.S. Go in display properties and set 16 bit color quality, instead of 32. You will see normal sky then while in window mode.

You know damn well pilot killing and teaming is not fair play in a deathmath. Deathmatch means everybody versus everybody. Teaming and pilot killing is for strat. I find it incredibly cowardly how your team won't even let me get in my tank and give me a chance to defend myself, on top of that being the fact that there are 3 or 4 of them. Even in sword fighting both men are sportsmen enough to give the other a fair chance and allow the other to be armed. Back your team off of me because you know full well I can't kill 4 guys that have mag cannons and thumpers with a plasma rifle.

Now in response to your post...

You're allowed to define BZ however you want. It's your game, as well as it is everyone elses. If you would have told me earlier that you rarely get a 1v1 strat, then I would have been far more understanding and patient about not getting a 1v1 DM. Why do you wait so long to tell me these things? And, I actually think we should have rules in our 1v1 because a plasma rifle does not stand a chance against a tank. Both men should be fully armed and ready. This goes back to my swordsmen sparring analogy. Initially saying no rules should be involved was only to provoke you to finally get in a 1v1 with me.

And by the way, I can handle a 3v1 if I am armed, and I'm pretty confident I can get 5 kills before you guys get 15, simply because I am one guy, whereas I have 3 targets. In the BS clan, we would make games where it would be all vs the man on top, so I have plenty of experience with that. Aduq, Chaos, and Sig would team against me on ropa.

You should know that people are entitled to their opinions. I accept your definition of Battlezone, but you absolutley refuse to accept mine. That's rather irritating.

On a good note, I'm glad we're only making general disagreements about Battlezone and not other things.

EDIT: I can try to wait for that 1v1 DM. But I can't wait forever. It's only the beginning of the semester and we haven't had a lot of work yet, but it's building up fast. Around the middle to end of the semester we have no time to even do laundry, I've told ya that before. Pretty soon I will have no time for Battlezone. I already have a 10 page essay to write, and I need to get started on it. I'm not trying to pressure you. I'm simply unable to wait forever. I'll try to be patient.

DM is great practice for strat.

Let us know when you want a REAL game. No, not deathmatch; strategy.

Strat has a winner.

Strat is not endless.

There is no questioning of rules.

And a side note:

Snipe OFF games are for newbs who are still learning, and don't need to be sniped while learning how to build things in strat, or learning how to dog fight in a DM, so they can defend themselves in strat.

Yes, single player gives a good introduction to the basics, but online opponents are much more merciless.

"Free for All" means we are free to attack who we please.

So quit whining.

The only time teaming is wrong is when you team with a cheater. Cheaters don't deserve to play, so we ruin they're cheating attempt by meeting them with impossible odds. We all target the cheater until he gives up.

Don't you think that is fair? We aren't hacking, we aren't cheating, we are coming together as one to destroy our common enemy.

Think of it as a democracy type of thing. We all don't want the cheater, so we cast our vote against the cheater. It's that simple.

The next time you're thinking about playing dumb, think twice.
