How do I export my video in decent quality, but also keep the file size down?

Here's how I do it:

1. File --> Save Movie File

2. Choose "My Computer", click "Next".

3. Enter a name for the movie file and click "Next".

4. Choose this video setting:

In my experience, "Video for local playback (2.1 Mbps)" has been the best setting. Slightly smaller .wmv files than the "High quality Video (large)" setting, but also better quality in general. 2D elements like ammo display, FPS counter, etc are kept more intact and are readable in more frames than with "High quality Video (large)" setting. :)

Interesting, I usually use "High Quality Video(large)", I'll try out your idea next time I upload a video. :)

I was using "High quality video (large)" too, hehe. Then I tried a different option and noticed better quality. :D

I guess this only applies to Windows XP. I heard that Windows Vista and 7 have a completely different movie maker, so I don't know what the best setting is on that.

For people with Windows 7 that want the old Windows XP Movie Maker, I found this:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/d ... laylang=en

You can download the old Movie Maker there, it works on both Windows Vista and 7 from what I know.

Have fun making videos! :D
