Hello, just recently joined this little community when i realized my favorite N64 game was a PC port, hallelujah. Anyway, I'm wanting to try out multiplayer, but I have not been able to fix my high fps problem. I've looked up the fix for it, but when I tried to take care of it, the 60fps override option was not there in the Catalyst Control Center. I looked it up, and realized that only XP computers get that option. Has anyone with Windows 7 been able to get around this? I'd really rather not be considered a cheater

Hello, welcome to Battlezone! Locking FPS at 60 is possible if you have BZ running fullscreen and in hardware mode. If you have BZ running fine in fullscreen, all that's left is to set your monitor's refresh rate to 60 Hz (and make sure Vsync is on) if you can't find any override setting. (For me it's in Start, Run, dxdiag, More Help, Override...) There should be some kind of "Display Options" in your Windows control panel.

You're running in window mode, so there's no way to limit your framerate, even if you could find the override setting.

To sum it up:
BZ 1.4 doesn't work in full screen and/or HW mode if you have Win7 + ATI. FPS (bug) can't be controled if you run BZ in SW or WIN mode.
P.S. There's vertical sync in Win7 too. You probably just don't have ATI control panel installed, but even if you did, that wouldn't help you because of the things mentioned above.
