I will make this post to try to generate some talk about hacking and how it is not very likely in 1.5. I was in a game today and as usual a new player (i assume) said to me and i quote, ( i wont play bz with a hacked sniper). I will not at this point leave a name as i assume this is a noob that just does not understand 1.5 is not a hacked game at least at this point. I will further say that hacking this game would be a waste of time as the kick features and anti hacking features work so well. We should promote to the noobs, that hacking is nearly impossible here so they have some comfort and remain to play in the hopes of improving and giving some of us better games in the future. It may be a possibility that this was a Reaper clone trying to get a hack rumor started but i only assume that. I did not trace an ip and hope in 1.5 that kind of thing wont be necessary. I will point out that i made one snipe out of three attempts and immediately the player made the hack comment and left. The player was not in the lobby when i came out seconds later. In any case accusing people of hacking at this early point in bz1.5 will not help us get players in. For all you new players please do not assume someone is hacked and make stupid accusations as it is bad for bz. Just ask the other player to help you get better. Yeah, the hack accusations from some players really don't help anything. During testing, I tried to hack 1.5 as best as I could, but nothing I tried ever worked once Ken put in the increased security. Snipe in particular has extra protection. Normally you could mod it in single player, but 1.5 doesn't even allow that. I'm not a hacking genius, but for what it's worth, I can't hack 1.5 online games.

In that game, JackFlash had first place before he left. I wasn't even "winning". It was also a full 8 player game, but they eventually started saying "gg" and leaving. Jack of course would not say "gg", he would complain instead.

Im starting to wonder who my hack accusing fan is. I played a game today and after it ended just as i was about to leave a player came in named edhunter. He attacked some outbuilding for scrap and i decided to go on and stay in. I had a few towers and no scrap and he had nothing either. As i attacked his approaching tank i tried to fire over it to let him know i was not going to be aggressive but i was not giving up any more buildings. He continued firing so i destroyed his tank. I backed off after killing a scav and was going to offer to let him collect some scrap. He already had a scout and was on the attack again so i thought ok, he wants to provoke me ill just tank his ass. After this he was destroyed again and instead of building scavs he went over the top on ice to attack my base or snipe. I saw him on a nav so i came back to base thinking this guy really don't want to strat or collect scrap he just wants to get my recy and go.

The ping was wrong for cahos so i assumed its just another player trying to be an ass and have a little fun. Again i let him sit there on my base he was out of sniper rounds and i tried to let him walk. He insisted i kill him by running at my tank with plasma. I obliged. Then he went into rant mode. Sounding just like the false hack accuser. Very smiler ping as well. At this point he noted i was in caps lock. (i could not unlock caps in game) I have no idea why. I told him caps was stuck and he ranted even more.

At this point i lost my patience and told him to .......off! Of course this is all the ammo he needed to continue his rant and then to proceed to tell me he knew who i was blah blah blah. I assume he traced me as i used a name i have never used before in all my bz history and he had my identity first try. All in all not a big deal but it just goes to show you that in spite off all the hard work put into bz 1.5 someone still has to provoke and try to run players off. I suggest if you want to harass someone at least have the guts to do it in your own known alias otherwise your just a dummy on a pointless mission. Speaking for myself, If i do not know who is trying to provoke me it is just entertaining. If it is someone i respect it actually bothers me a little.

A little harmless instigating can make for a fun game but crybaby stuff is just annoying. Here is a thought for my antagonist,(do not join an old game at the end of it expecting a break unless you ask for one). I play a strat to win and am not always successful. When i am, im not going to let you spoil it unless you have the decency to ask. And secondly, If you attack as soon as you come in its likely you wont get a break at all. I suggest asking for a new fresh game instead of reaching for your crybaby's hankie.

On a separate topic i noticed if someone gets in my ship in my base and i snipe them my towers will shoot at the ship as always. However as i get close enough they stop and i can recover my tank. What a great fix! Congrats to whom ever came up with that idea! Loooooong live 1.5 Valak

Yeah, there's 2 ways to toggle CAPS LOCK.

1. Press CAPS LOCK while the chat input is active.
2. Press ESC and turn off CAPS LOCK, then "Return to Game".

Battlezone 1.5 prevents CAPS LOCK from being changed during the game since it's the default radar toggle key.
