Hi everybody.

I am just glad that I found this site. I played BZ long time ago (1999 to be exact). Battlezone is the only game which gives me a lasting impression on 3D-action-RTS and the only game in my opinion that managed to get it right. No other game was like Battlezone. Homeworld comes close but you cannot steer the ship yourself and join the fray, while in BZ you can take control of any ship. Maybe it is not correct to compare these two anyway. Closest possibly is Dungeon Keeper series from Bullfrog, but then again it was a different game, different setting, different attitude, etc.

I gave up searching on games like Battlezone a long time ago. Because no other game came even close. I had a friend who also played BZ, just this one friend, and I lost contact of him some years afterward. Then the CD went kaput and I cannot find a replacement. So I thought no more Battlezone FOREVER, which kind of gave me the creep. Then I forgot Battlezone.

(I also heard Battlezone 2 was not worth it and I did not bother to check it out myself. Is it correct?)

Then several days ago I found this site, after completely forget about it. Downloading take several minutes. Several minutes later I was already on a bumpy ride on the moon. And I can say the magic is still in the game ....

I make a promise to myself to finish BZ. As I remember I got stuck in one particularly nasty mission (I forgot which) before the CD went bust. Last time I was a college student and now I am a father with a boy (and one not-so-game-tolerant wife) but I promise I will finish BZ. Once and for all! Then I will try multiplayer.

Thanks for reading my rant btw :D

Yep. Battlezone is the best game ever made. And multiplayer is the best about it, not singleplayer ;) If you had not noticed, I suggest you get a friend and connect together.

Although, I always wanted to make changes to BZ multiplayer, the biggest one would be scrap falling from the sky now and then, so the game can go on forever.

I have been playing a little bit with the Cryengine free sdk, And I have seen that people are doing a bz2 remake in UDK.

I would love to create a BZ remake in Cryengine, using BZ1 for inspiration, adding all the things I missed. It would be something. I do 3dmodeling and texturing, but no programming. Maybe we should look at this forum getting a team together...

Welcome to Battlezone both of you, I look forward to seeing you on multiplayer! :) As a quick note, if you have problems getting onto multiplayer then don't be too alarmed; what with it being an old game, there are still a few problems that may occur. Battlezone 1.5 is the newly released, patched version of Battlezone which is currently the most up to date and glitch free version. (Make sure you're playing the 1.5.1.1 version also). When you decide to go online, if you can't connect to any games then there is a set of fixes that will 9 times out of 10 sort it out for you. If, when you go online, you get problems, then make a comment on here saying what's happening so that I can determine the fix for you :). (That's of course IF you get problems. If you don't then brilliant :D)

There is a way to make scrap respawn after a set time within the map editor. It involves editing it's name I believe.

Scrap cannot really "fall", because when scrap is placed it is anchored to the floor no matter how or where it is placed. Yes, you can make scrap appear later on in the game, but no, you cannot visibly make it fall from the sky.

Hi and welcome
Yup... BZ is the best game ever made. Bz2 was ok but it is nowhere close to Battlezone 1.
hurry up and beat the single player so we can have another player on multiplayer :D
(i know how you feel, my mom hates computer games too)
