Ok, so I have high ping, but it shows that everyone else has high ping as well. The problem in-game is that everyone else's ships both AI and player controlled jump around like crazy. Does anyone know how to lower my ping through settings? I have high speed internet. Oh and my fps was around 30. I am running xp on virtual pc but my host machine is vista. How do I lock it on 60 fps?

How high is your ping? Everybody else having high ping in a game means your ping is high 99% of the time.

Make sure you are not downloading anything while playing, or running other CPU-intensive processes while playing. I once thought I could play a game while Windows Movie Maker exports a video file. Even though Movie Maker did not use network bandwidth, it seemed to cause extra warp even though I was getting 60 FPS.

Perhaps the virtual machine is the source of your problem. Even if you can't run in HW mode on Vista, you should enter a game in SW/Window mode and check what the pings are without the virtual machine.

Doesn't virtual PC run only in SW mode? If so, then you don't need it for BZ, you can run BZ on Vista in SW mode instead.

You can lock FPS only in HW mode, but even there you can't raise it, only lower it.

how many mbit/s do you have?

Edit: it doesent matter if you get many mbit/s, its more important to have a good ping. bz dont need many kb, you will do fine with around 45kb
