bz 1.5 encounters an error which says it needs to close when i press launch online or offline (standard windows xp error)
and 1.4 seems to work but i cant join any games because it freezes and crashes with a UE when i press launch, and i can make a game and it works for me but no one can join.
most important to me is getting 1.5 to work though because that will be the bug-free and unhackable bz which i always dreamed of.
i have formatted my pc twice and still cant get bz to work. i changed the ip thing to fix 100 loss and it worked but a few still have 100 loss (from banning me.)
anyone can help? btw sry if i insulted u before when i used to play bz i stopped insulting people quite a long time ago and realize its very immature and i regret being such an idiot. so feel free to unban me. i see that quite a few still have my IP blocked and most of them are stratters. i wont insult anyone again this time i promise.

Hey Vim, maybe change your name to BrightVim, now when you are a different man? Quote: bz 1.5 encounters an error which says it needs to close when i press launch online or offline (standard windows xp error) 1.5 issues are for Ultraken only. Post them in the active build topic, which is ATM this one - new-build-2010-07-12-t1442.html. Make new post for each technical isssue/bug report/suggestion, so they could be moved elsewhere if necessary. When you post 2-3 things inside one post one gets fixed, other forgotten, third lost. Quote: and 1.4 seems to work but i cant join any games because it freezes and crashes with a UE when i press launch, and i can make a game and it works for me but no one can join.

i see that quite a few still have my IP blocked and most of them are stratters. Nobody has you banned. You are experiencing port issues, meaning your ports to certain players are closed. You have to forward them from your modem/router to your PC. See here for help - port-forwarding-100-loss-t924.html.

See here for help - port-forwarding-100-loss-t924.html. i had to look it up to find out all i needed to do was change end of my ip on the setting internal static ip thing. i noticed 100% loss was gone for most people wen i did that so isnt that all? i remember just before i left bz ALOT of people were showing 100 loss due to ban so why wouldnt some still have me banned? so i did that internal static ip thing but i didnt understand the 21000-22000 port forwarding to ur ip thing or how to get to it. i havent been in router settings before, ill have to ask my dad tomorrow.

advanced settings - internet - address translation (nat) - port forwarding
Protocol (TCP & UDP) Public & Local port (21000-22000) Local IP address (the one from Command Prompt) Comment (I.E. BZ) Enabled (check) Add - OK
ok i give up i cant find where the f*** im supposed to change those settings. i have looked everywhere in my router settings. and i have a thomson tg585 v7 router. i have set an internal static ip adress though.

In this topic, it says: Quote: To set this router up, you have to follow the same instructions as you do for the Thomson/Alcatel SpeedTouch 585, but there is one difference.
Where for the speedtouch you enter the TCP or UDP ports under 'ANY' in the drop down box on the menu, for the Thompson you can't select 'ANY', you have to select 'TCP or 'UDP' in the drop down menu. Since it says it's similar to SpeedTouch 585, I then found a guide for that. It's for uTorrent, so you'll have to simply do BZ instead, but that should be helpful.

That's your port forwarding screen or game permissions screen? My routers' port-forwarding screen doesn't look like that at all, but maybe it will work. If there's one thing I hate about IT, it's networking.
Give this a try- Where it says Translate to, put the IP that you got in the Command Prompt listing (Windows Key + R, Type CMD, then type IPCONFIG and look for where it says your IP).

its the forwarding screen for my router and under traslate to and trigger port it only has 5 slots for characters so they must be for port numbers also in the choosable tabs it has 3 options: Any(both udp and tcp probably) TCP, and UDP. but i have no idea what to put them as. im taking random guesses but theres so many possibilities. i dont know how any of this works or how ports work its my first time looking at this stuff.

The point is; you have to set static IP for your PC and then forward BZ ports to it in the router. When I join server I get random port from 21-22k range and static IP that I set is 192.168.1.200. Here's how that looks like in my router's port forwarding settings: Attachment:

You probably set some other static IP (ipconfig/all in command prompt) and you have to add additional range of ports, cause I noticed you get 49000-51000 ports (wireshark is good for checking that). The problem with your router (screenie) is I don't see where you entered static IP of your PC. Without doing that you didn't forward any ports...

Finally, useful Snowcone's tech support post. Quote: The problem with your router (screenie) is I don't see where you entered static IP of your PC. Without doing that you didn't forward any ports... I was blind, it is behind this - "Assign a game or application to a local network device." Vim, select your PC there.
