HEY GUYS, WHAT GIVES? It seems no one is ever on the server to speak of any more. The last few days i have not found a game. I hope it gets better soon for the sake of the remaining community. Maybe my timing is bad but ive never saw a Saturday at 9 that a few people were not playing at least. (3 were in lobby but not playing or typing) I received an e mail that Warchild might leave the community as well. Anyway im not here enough myself to pretend i know what is going on. Hey Val, yeah it was kinda slow lately, it must be summer and a lot of people being on vacation, away from their PC's (with me being one). Sundays usually had over 50 games and look at yesterday, only 34.

Summer is going to its end, the peek is over, so I expect every day more people in BZ, starting from today...

As for Warchild, I hope he will quit on BZ, all he does lately is cheat on noobs who kick his ass and firewall abuse when he faces guys like me. He's a menace to this community.

37 games again. Not great, but a decent number for a summer tuesday...

Even though games are being played during these hot days, I can see where the problem is, what was valak talking about. It is the same problem we have had for years, but of course it is more noticable during summer days, when people go on vacations or just spend more time out than in front of their PC's.

The problem is in impatient players. Number of players in our community is around 100 and we are spread in different time zones. Unfortunately, some of you expect to find a game going on whenever you log into BZ. Well, that can be successful from time to time, but generally that's not how the things work around here.

If there are 100 players overall, what you think how many are ready to play in the same moment you are ready? Not many. Especially if there's no game already going on for some time that gathered few.

We talked about this in other threads. The procedure is really simple; all you have to do is wait a bit longer for someone else to show up or for the players already in the lobby to come back from being AFK (away from keyboard).

If you came to play a game that means you have at least 30mins free time, so why not spend 5 on waiting and 25 on playing? Dozens of you enter and leave the lobby in a split of a second. That's wrong, be more patient, not just for your sake, for everybody's sake.

If you cannot wait while in a full screen, switch to window mode (using Configuration Utility) and while waiting on a game do something else; surf, check email or whatever. And when you see a game or your possible opponent tell him to hold on then switch back to full screen and start playing. Or even better, host a game yourself. People always join eventually. Those who host all the time are not dummies or kids who have nothing to do all day. They just care more about BZ than you do.

Those who leave lobby in split second are impossible to even talk to, because they leave before even a fast typist can finish typing a single word. Then there's those who have a technical issue, but won't ask for help, they just join or host game and crash over and over expecting different results from each attempt. Sometimes I wait in lobby in window while checking mail and stuff and I check lobby and there's a game, so I switch to full screen and the game is gone before I can re-enter lobby. The player who hosted the game is also gone, thinking nobody is on to play. This is even worse when I use my really old slow PC, because there is a few seconds of loading between each screen in the game, so it takes me a lot longer to switch.

All they have to do is be a little more patient and they can have a good game.

Jesus Christ! You expect me to be patient? I suppose ill soon have to be nice and even shower weekly! What a bunch a s*** that would be! Haha . Ill try to be patient.

Revive the damn game ! I am currently in the process of erecting a headstone for the grave of bz .
Some of you guys have to get on and play soon. We will lose the game if more people don't join. Pass out some cds to people you know or talk of the game on the irc . Ill try to bring a few in if i can but a large joint effort would be much better. After my break from the game i realize how much i like it. Prop it up like the American economy if you have to! The lobby had around 9 players in it playing a Coli game earlier today. Not sure what happened after that, left.

I am willing to learn. and an play tonight and tomorrow night. if anyone is interested in letting a newbie learn, let me know and i an get on.

Most ppl on battlezone1.net server are helpful. Some will realize that you are beginner on their own and start going on you easier or not engaging you at all, others you have to remind.

When you get online and see no games, make your own sync off strategy (for 3 or 4 players) and start building. Others will join eventually. When they do, just tell them you are new and they will help.

another new player here.
I was always into BZ when it got out. I played it and enjoyed it, thinking it was one of best games ever (at the time). Few days ago i was talking with some friends about old games and i rememberd BZ, and thought i could download it and play it for good old times sake. But i found this awesome site and i was really surprised that BZ has active online community.

Im still playing in SP, and im awful (and i always was since i played it on SP only, and all guides here are like swahili to me ) but maybe if i think im improving i jump in online to play few games.

Play single player on hard, that'll improve your skills real quick and will get you ready for strat games!
