I have owned BattleZone for about 4-5 years, and we used to play it heaps. Now i cant install it on my XP.
Can someone tell me what details i need to post to help someone help me fix this? or does it require a patch?

Hi, and welcome to Battlezone!  Try the installer. It's the simplest way to get Battlezone 1.4 up and running. If you have problems after that, post back here. If you want to patch original CD, it's in the FAQ, but I still recommend the installer.

what does the Installer do?
Edit: It is so big, is there a smaller, more compact version that i can use?

It installs Battlezone and The Red Odyssey with all the patches already applied. Right after installation, you're all set.

Well if you can't get the installer due to internet issues (corruption) then I guess you'll have to apply the patches yourself.

What? If some part of the patching process on the FAQ is unclear to you, please specify what it is. Saying that you "can't get into the actual game" just sounds to me like your BZ won't run because you didn't patch it yet. You need to follow those instructions, and then run the game. If you have trouble with BZ after patching is done, post your system specifications.

I have got the patches on the game, and it keeps telling me to "Install Direct X" I have done this dozens of times. What do i do?

OK, let's go through this step by step. Quote: 1. install the game from CD I'm assuming this step is already done, you have BZ installed from the CD, right? Quote: 2. go to http://www.battlezone1.net/downloads/apply 1.4 patch - bzpat14.exe Is this where you're stuck?

2 Done all that, what do i select when it says "Open with ----"
I go into the CD, I press play, then it says "Please Install Direct X" then it says "install finish, please restart computer" I did that, but it keeps telling me to repeat all that again.
