Nice redesign, but I think it would be better if it had the same theme as these forums. These forums are clean, easy on the eye, and are easy to navigate through...IMO

Battlezone1.net isn't hard to navigate IMO, I easily found screenshots, videos, game installers, etc. I downloaded all 6 Languages of BZ 98 1.2 in case I want to play BZ in a foreign language.

Are we all needing to download the BZ98 1.2 installation, or is it just optional if you want it in a different language?

Don't forget our anonymous server owner in all this story. He's not just hosting BZ server, www.battlezone1.net domain with BZ website and BZ installers is also his. Flogus wrote: Great Do the sound files benefit from the new multi-lingual version ? Yes. If you download BZ98_FR you will hear French voices. Snowcone wrote: Nice redesign, but I think it would be better if it had the same theme as these forums. These forums are clean, easy on the eye, and are easy to navigate through...IMO Our goal was to reconstruct original Activision's BZ site and improve it. I was pushing TT hard for a few weeks , with constant suggestions what to add, what to remove, what to change... and I'm very happy with the results. But everything is changeable and we are opened for suggestions. Snowcone wrote: Are we all needing to download the BZ98 1.2 installation, or is it just optional if you want it in a different language? Nothing important is changed considering the stock game, but if you don't have v1.2 you won't have some custom maps and such... I always strongly suggest to have the latest installer version. Downloads are now hosted on our main site, so it all goes easy and fast. Sporkinator wrote: I downloaded all 6 Languages of BZ 98 1.2 in case I want to play BZ in a foreign language. You can have them all 6 installed in the same time, just be sure to rename folders right and don't use Config Utility cause it gets confused when more than 1 BZ installed. Default for all is Battlezone 1998. You can use BZ98_US, BZ98_IT... And Russian installer is changing font registry for proper displaying of Cyrillic so reboot is needed after installation (my bad for not setting reboot option in installer).

Speaking as an Englishman, Since when has US been a language?
On another point, are there any major differences between the new installer and the last one? I will download it when I can. my house's broadband is dying, (last week it downloaded windows 7 in 3 hours, this week it wants 7 hours for the new installer.) So until it gets fixed I can't justify the time.

No one said US is a language.
US is installer mark. Activision is American company, language spoken in the game is American English and NSDF is American army in space. Maybe BZ98_US/EN is more proper, but I needed something with 2 letters only.

It can go either way. I've never heard an English-accent on a game until I got BF 2142, but then again both sides are European based. It can also go for the same way with spelling...whereas 'color' is used in the USA, and 'colour' in European countries. For some reason people around here have a hard time comprehending the English accent. So I bet Activision used American dialect to avoid confusion and so players wouldn't get lost in the games story

Or perhaps because the characters are part of the US National Space Agency? Later the NSDF?

This new version is really great ! It's really nice to play BZ in my native language (French).
About Red Odyssey, a CD is required. Which CD is it ?
