I was originally exposed to the battlezone universe when i randomly picked up the n64 ported version, at the age of about 13 or 14 I had no idea, of battlezone: rise of the black dogs. For those that have never heard, which I'm sure there are very few, the game had the original nsdf and cca campaigns with an additional black dog campaign. However, this version is completely different from the red odyssey black dog one. It was a much better campaign, and in my honest opinion the best of any that I have played. It also felt like the original game. The red odyssey just feels kind of stripped down and raw, almost unfinished, as opposed to the original battlezone. Anyway, to the point, the problem with the ported version was that i took away a lot of the functionality of the pc version, for example no global maps or targeting etc. Just a lot of limitations. My question is has anyone seen, heard etc if the ported n64 version, even in a mod, has ever been recreated for pc?

personally i love the Red odyssey campaign. i dont know how it feels "stripped down" to you
but you should look through some illegal download sites and download it there. and find an emulator to play it with,

I think you misunderstand. I mean play it on pc with the functionality of the pc versions. In the ported version there were things like oversimplified controls, no speech audio, and the frame rate would constantly stutter. You couldn't use turrets even though you could get into them you couldn't unload. There were a lot of little things that made the pc version so much fun that you lost in the port. I was just wondering if anyone had heard of any mods or remakes of the black dog campaign for that version that plays like the pc versions.

That won't work.
For me.
The game is in the TOP half of the screen.
There's just BLACKNESS in the bottom half.
