i need some real help, i got BZ on my new comp which has win 7.. i checked all over the forums to fix this problem, i can start the game fine, but when i start ANY kind of map (SP or MP) it quits and says "unhandled exception". HOWEVER, if i choose to start the game in a mission, it starts the game fine.. but, the graphics are all random colors and dont look right in any way, many thanks

Hi I have had the same problem with my dads XP lately. This was after I had played with the Configuration settings though and although I reset the changes I also enabled the higher graphic resolutions, MIP mapping, Z-buffer, enhanced large textures, and alpha blending. I had been experimenting with starting it up directly in a mission. While I am at it does anyone know what "radar type" will do?
my BZ version is 1.2

my BZ version is 1.2 Zbuffer should be off, it likely caused a UE for you. Your BZ version is 1.2? You mean Battlezone 1998 v1.2 (all the installers we made so far install Bz 1.4) or do you mean actual Battlezone 1.2? RadarType can switch you to a textured radar if you enter 4. But in my opinion the wireframe radar looks better.

I don't know I am going to see if I can get permission to download Bz 1.4. I downloaded BZ from a different site so I don't know for sure, but I think it is BattleZone 1998 v1.2. I don't normally play on that computer anyway and before long I won't be using that computer at all. So if no one knows how to fix it that's fine.

If you downloaded the Battlezone 1998 Installer from http://www.battlezone1.net, you already have Battlezone 1.4. Our first installer was called 1.4M (and there was RO 1.3M for The Red Odyssey), as it came after somebody else's 1.4K and 1.4L. Well, then we combined BZ1.4 and RO1.3 into 1 single installer and made 1.4N, 1.4O, and we were about to call the next installer 1.4P, but then decided to drop the letter system of naming installer versions and 1.4P became known as BZ 1998. Then when we made more installers, each one was distinguished by the installer version. There was BZ 1998 v1.0, 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, and 1.4. I think you got confused between BZ version and installer version. BZ version has never changed, all installers have 1.4. Installer version is something else. In each new installer we add more maps and stuff. Hope that clarifies it.

Jenkins, you must be having ATI card. There's no help for you unless to be patient until 1.5 patch, which will fix those issues, is released. In the meantime, try Bz1.5beta isntaller available there.
