Battlezone 1

Well first of all, hello to everyone, I am very much a BZ fan, played it way back in 98 for years and want to get back into it again.

Now the problem, I can't join games. I have set my router to allow ports 21000 to 22000 (bt home hub). These routes (both TCP and UDP) are confirmed open when I run a 3rd party piece of software called "PFPortChecker" from OS.

When I run BZ and go into CMD prompt and type "netstat -noa" and "tasklist", it tells me that BZ is running on:

Active connections

Protocol - Local Address
UDP - 0.0.0.0:21218
------------------------------

No mention of it on TCP.

Needless to say that my ip address is not 0.0.0.0, but the port address does seem to be correct. It looks to me like when BZ runs, it is not running with my normal ip address (that say "world of warcraft" would). Something is making it assign 0.0.0.0 which means it is not talking to the router, as the router has the correct ports open for my correct ip address.

I have win xp pro OS.

Active connections info you are getting is normal.

Try forwarding BZ ports directly to the PC you are using (don't forget to assign a static internal IP).

I have tried wot u suggested, but the same thing happens. Been working at it for over 2 hours now. Thanks to the people in the chat room who created games and joined my games several times to test for me. Unfortunately it has led to frustration and disappointed, but no surprise. It is a very old game and it's dated internet protocol coding makes it a bit hit and miss to get working these days.

I am jeolus that u guys can play this great game in multiplayer.

Don't give up.

If all your attempts were wireless, try wired now. Routers always have tighter firewall for wireless connections.

Edit:
To speed up the process, you don't even have to make/enter the games when testing. When you enter the lobby and see 100 %loss to few players, that's a clear sign you won't be able to join games and that others won't be able to join yours.
