When you see that message it means you have more than 3GB of RAM, which is confusing BZ. It also means you have 64bit Windows.

If you are on Vista or 7, solution for this is simple - run BZ in a compatibility mode for WinXP.



If you are on XP, the only known fix is this.

I was wrong before , thinking that XP compatibility is a must on Vista/7. I just realized it's not by installing 7 on my old PC with 2GB of RAM.

Spock, you are a god among men... had this problem twice, and practically gave up on BZ as a result... thanks!

Crap... sorry again spock, but now I have a different problem. BZ will open and start up, but about halfway to the starting screen, it brings up that "unhandled exception" error, and BZ quits... so it still doesn't work on my Vista, and in fact crashed my computer. Any ideas?

Set resolution to 800x600 or higher.

That's... impossible. The screenshot from the first post is from Win7. Maybe you didn't click on the "Properties", after right-clicking on the bzone.exe/BZ98 shortcut?
