Was it intentional that clients do not have permission to send text messages?

Is that something new? I haven't touched default permissions since the beginning.

Well, I don't remember TS2 even having non-private text messaging capabilities, but it appears TS3 has it.

Got me a headset now. A logitech one is $19.36 (including tax) here in my town.

Had issues with TS3 for win2k but I fixed it.

- Nicknames are derived from Droids of Star Wars
- Either speaks or plays sound bites, depending on computer

Sporkinator

- Sounds robotic due to Dial-up, easy to pick out of a crowd
- Jeopardy on a keyboard is the usual entry sound

Shrimpmi3ster
- Somewhat Active
- No nicknames

Hyperfighter

- Nicknames are derived from him being a king (King of Blades; King of Strats; etc.) or can be random
- mic light is usually always on unless he has muted the mic

GOLEM
- Has allegedly downloaded but yet to be seen
- Nicknames are usually DR. GOLEM PHD, anything HEAVY, or ANYTHING IN ALL CAPS, but beware of Spork imitating GOLEM

Nice list. :P

Oh Spock, I figured out the text chat error, I have to text chat in "Eagle's Nest" instead of "battlezone1.net". I wasn't aware of the tabs at first. :) Everything works great... except my internet.

How to use TeamSpeak 3 on dial up (AKA No More RoboSpork )

I use lower audio quality by creating my own channel:
Image
In particular, notice the position of the slider. (1.17 kbps)

When I do that and everybody joins my channel, I don't have any drastic ping spikes when chatting. Of course it doesn't sound as good, but I can understand people. :D

"RoboSpork" comes from the fact that I sound like a robot in the default channels at full audio quality because my connection cannot send it fast enough. I used TeamSpeak at 1.17kbps during a game. I didn't notice the same lag I saw in TeamSpeak 2, there was little to no (extra) lag.

That happens from time to time. It means I have to update the TeamSpeak server.

Teamspeak is wonderful when you have a spammer in a game... Kyle was doing it yesterday.

Yeah, he probably placed a coin roll on the enter key and went AFK. Would be nice if BZ had in-game mute.
