After a month of no Battlezone (Believe me, it's hard) due to my 1GB limit of bandwidth on my pathetic plug in dongle router on my laptop, I return under the alias of '1st Recon Squad' (If you play Fallout: New Vegas then you might understand where I got it from
) and I had difficulty joining a game with Smokeater, Goomba and Valak. I finally managed to connect and the game was in it's finishing moments as the game had been going for 1 hour when I joined. We then suggested a new game and I was host. My usual game name 'STRAT-AH-G' was chosen
. Goomba suggested Foothills and the game was underway. It was orginially a free-for-all, but as sync start was off, Smokeater joined in and took the 4th place. Not long into the game fierce fighting between Goomba and Valak was already happening, and I was slowly setting up my defences (4 gun towers all equipped with dual blast cannons hehe).
Once I had a Hangar and Supply set up, I had to go have my dinner and so it was just the 3 players left to fight.
Roughly 20 minutes after, I arrived to find my base in perfect condition as I thanked all the players for leaving me until I came back
. A few moments later the fight begins when I am getting attacked by a few tanks. Scavengers from all sides are racing in towards scrap somehow unaware of the warzone they were entering. Slowly I was losing this fight for the scrap field just outside my base. Suddenly, I switch into combat mode after a sip of Tango orange
and I bring in the light tanks and APC's and start bringing the fight back to them. I was outnumbered; Goomba and Valak were on me and I thought I was going to lose. Smokeater was dropping in and out, the most action I saw from him was his scavvys trying to steal the scrap! I stopped them soon enough.
As I was slowly pushing back their strong offensive line and destroying their supply, silo and howitzers, I then realise I have a fair chance of getting my forces together for a big attack. 1 by 1 I destroy the scavengers, howitzers, tanks and all the other stragglers escaping hehe.
At that moment it was decided that I was the winner of that match and the game ended before 1 side defeated the other.
Thanks Goomba, Valak and Smokeater for a great game that has got me hooked on Battlezone again
