YES IT SHOULD BE HELD IN DECEMBER 01 2012 SO AS THE MAGNETIC BALANCE OF THE EARTH IS COLLAPSING AND MILLIONS OF PEOPLE ARE DYING, BZERS AROUND THE WORLD GET TO STRAT TO BECOME THE NUMBER 1 STRATTER IN ALL THE WORLD WHILE FLOODS VOLCANOES AND TORNADOES ARE DESTROYING THE s*** OUT OF THE EARTH FROM ITS f*** EPICNESS. AND IF ONE OF THE PLAYERS WHO ENTERS THE TOURNAMENT DIES IN REAL LIFE THEY SHOULD BE AUTOMATICALLY DISQUALIFIED TO ADD TO THE GOD DAMN EPICNESS. IT SHOULD BE SET TO JUST BEFORE THE WORLD ENDS SO THE WINNER CAN ENJOY THEIR VICTORY JUST BEFORE THEY DIE A HORRIBLE DEATH. MAYBE THE 2012 STRAT BATTLE IS GOING TO BE SO EPIC THAT THE MAYANS PREDICTED THE WORLD WOULD BE DESTROYED BY IT 2012 YEaRS AGO WHICH IS WHY THE WORLD IS GOING TO END IN 2012. IF I MANAGE TO CREATE A COMPUTER OUT OF SCRAP METAL AND CARDBOARD BOXES BY THE TIME IT STARTS I WILL ENTER AND WIN IT f*** EXTREMELY EASILY WITH M CURTAIN, I WILL f*** FLY OVER BASES AND DESTROY s*** AND s*** ON BASES WHILE BEING f*** UNTOUCHABLE, AND I WILL BE FOLLOWED BY A SWARM OF MOTHER f*** M-CURTAIN-MINELAYERS AND BLAST TURRETS AND TANKS TO DESTROY EVERYTHING WHILE THEY CANT BE DESTROYED AT ALL BY ANYTHING EXCEPT A f*** COMET

I fully support it, which means this forum will support it too, but I don't feel like organizing it again, so someone else will have to do it... Check out last 2 tournaments, see how they went and drag the best out of it... Feel free to post your ideas... strat-tournament-2009-t891.htmlstrat-tournament-2010-t1058.html

I stopped reading DarkVim's post after "THE MAGNETIC BALANCE OF THE EARTH IS COLLAPSING".

I don't mind hosting it if it goes ahead, after all, I'm in the UK which is the centre of the world --And no Google Chrome, I have NOT spelt 'centre' incorrectly hehe.--

Avenger, you can change your language to UK English, and then you won't have spelled center incorrectly.

I have far to less time to be hosting it, but I'll be more than happy to participate in it if it works out. I think it is important though to wait for 1.5 to be fully final (not as much pesky bugs) and the installer to be released (more maps).

I had the idea that the final game will be in a map which the players never played before

Joker wrote: I had the idea that the final game will be in a map which the players never played before Good idea, but it needs to be a completely new map (or at least unreleased) to avoid people knowing the map better than others. One map maker needs to make a good strategy map and not publish it in any way (not even beta testing) until the tournament has finished. Pretty tricky to pull off, if you ask me.

It's tricky to make a map and not distribute it in the process? I would of thought that it would be the other way around.

You would need beta testers to give you opinions if you want a real good map, otherwise it'll be very one sided. We could also of course pick a random map out of the available map list (picked by organizer)?

Ok sure, well I would be happy to be the organizer if everyone is fine with that. I went on 1.4 earlier and just looking at the maps made me remember how good they were. I think the final map should be a 1.4 map to give maybe a bit of a nostalgic feeling? And also because the map probably owns if its out of 1.4. I was just thinking, would there be a way to have a sort of spectator mode? Being able to watch a strat while flicking between players and such in a sort of ghost cam would be awesome. I can easily set it so that the entire lobby could join the game lobby itself but obviously we all wouldn't be able to launch and also other players might launch and interrupt gameplay. This idea would probably be too big but there could be some sort of ship you could launch with that acted as a camera or something. Have it so that its invisible, flies fast, AI can't see it or recognise it and make it so that no recycler launches with it? But then we have the player limit with the spawn points. This idea just spirals out of hand and becomes far too difficult to make happen very quickly . The only solution, which has of course been used for years, is for one player to record it and then upload it later for everyone to watch. Which leads me onto the possibility of streaming? I have never live streamed and I don't know what website to set it up on or whatever but if it was possible it would be a pretty cool idea. This then raises the issue that having a screen recorder up and running causes lag. The finalists would rather their opponent record than them because they don't want the lag disadvantage.

This is not mapmaking or modding thread, you are supposed to talk about strat tournament here. We have 1604 members and counting... you can't all be that incompetent, can you?
