Play the 3rd training mission. (The one where you protect a scavenger)
1. Order the recycler to pack up. (5,0)
2. Order the recycler to follow you. (5,1)
3. Order the recycler to Check Point 1. (5, point at Check Point 1, Space)
4. Go to Check Point 1.
Head NW from Check Point 1 across a pit with scrap in it to find a soviet fighter about 200m away. If you attempt to destroy it, it will be invincible, so don't shoot. Stay a good distance away, hop out, and snipe it. You may now destroy it if you want because it won't be invincible, but it doesn't matter, you can leave it intact if you wish.
5. Order the recycler to build a scavenger. (5,1)
As soon as the recycler is done building the scavenger, BZ will crash with a UE. Press ESC, Space, or Enter to exit BZ if you don't see the actual error message.

I'm not able to reproduce this on Battlezone for the N64. Guess the programmers were smart enough to make the fighter attack timed to appear as soon as the scavenger is made, and until then, the fighter would not materialize. There is nothing on the map until that first scavenger is made.

I wonder why it crashes on only this mission... On the one where you command a turret, I sniped/destroyed the enemy tug ahead of time, and no crashing. It just says MISSION COMPLETE.

The same for me, it just skips the battle since it has no ship to send at me and says I won.
Though, my game is not capable of crashing, but I sometimes have to press reset every once in a while cause it can freeze up.

Willing to bet they hardcoded the flanker to attack the scav in that mission giving an attack order to engage your scav, which is can't so the game probably gets a UE, they probably didn't expect someone to locate the flanker, therefore did not code an IF statement if the flanker gets sniped.

I can order an empty vehicle to do stuff, but nothing happens until an AI pilot enters the vehicle. When you press CTRL+1, you select all offensive units, even APCs that have already deployed troops, and empty units. Selecting APCs after they deploy makes them useless if you give them an order, because they don't reload with more soldiers, which it seems that only the AI can do, and only automatically. Non-existing Flanker would make sense as a crash cause, but only sniped? The Flanker still exists. This is the one time where crashing BZ is almost fun, because you can predict the UE, and it isn't caused by a silly hack. I find it funny that the Flanker is invulnerable if you try to kill it before building a scav.
