But there are limits.

I mean, overly restrictive places could cause new players to leave the game...
Just look at the 911 server...So many bans and so much bad stuff going on there, it drove many prospective newcomers away from the game....
Do you really want that to happen with this new, clean server?

EDITED THIS: Though I do NOT agree with this:
Quote:
IF this is confirmed and true, I would first issue a temporary ban then if the harassment continues, issue a permanent ban.

I don't agree with permanent bans ever. We can't do that. If somebody is hacking the server, they get banned for 24 hours. If they do it again, the ban time doubles to 48 hours, etc. There are other complications involved with server banning.

If Danny AKA MadCroatDisease had been permanently banned for the hacking he did, that would mean banning entire dial up ranges, and therefore I would be banned as well here at home on my current dial up connection.

The whole idea of this new server is that it's a server for all players. If somebody is causing trouble, such as hacking your games, you can download a free firewall like Sygate and keep them out of your games when you host.

That does make more sense.

I wasn't aware of any other consequences, so I just went with what I knew....But now, I believe the same as you.
I didn't think of it that way.

Anyway, I will be back later. I'm gonna go ask what Jabberwacky's up to.... :D

No need to permanently ban, just temporary stuff to give punishment.

Next topic of concern: Getting Spork High-Speed Internet! :D

Nobody will need to get me high speed Internet. It's impossible to get where I am now, and when I move I'll get good Internet service myself! :D

See I can do the same thing too.

You can misquote me all you want, though your fake quote is partially true... babies like you get eaten alive in strategy games. I went to the library 3 times this week (which is unusual) for high speed Internet. None of those times did I see you in the lobby challenging me or anybody else to a strat game, probably because you know you'd be defeated quickly. I saw you in lobby occasionally at home, but you weren't playing strat, in fact you weren't even playing DM. You were just sitting in the lobby whining about the same thing you whine about on this forum.
