How do I export my video in decent quality, but also keep the file size down? Here's how I do it: 1. File --> Save Movie File 2. Choose "My Computer", click "Next". 3. Enter a name for the movie file and click "Next". 4. Choose this video setting: In my experience, "Video for local playback (2.1 Mbps)" has been the best setting. Slightly smaller .wmv files than the "High quality Video (large)" setting, but also better quality in general. 2D elements like ammo display, FPS counter, etc are kept more intact and are readable in more frames than with "High quality Video (large)" setting.

Interesting, I usually use "High Quality Video(large)", I'll try out your idea next time I upload a video.

I guess this only applies to Windows XP. I heard that Windows Vista and 7 have a completely different movie maker, so I don't know what the best setting is on that.

Goomba wrote: For people with Windows 7 that want the old Windows XP Movie Maker, I found this: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/d ... laylang=enYou can download the old Movie Maker there, it works on both Windows Vista and 7 from what I know. Have fun making videos! Now that I have Windows 7, I just had to get movie maker 2.6 from that link. Windows Live Movie Maker is irritating. This is a screenshot of Windows Movie Maker 2.6 (I call it XP's Movie Maker) running on Windows 7:

Ya, the Windows XP Movie Maker had a lot more intuitive interface. Not as easy to get around the new one.

Yes, for what it's worth, I also have Windows XP paint on my Windows 7 laptop.

Haha, nice. I might do that too, although the Windows 7 Paint doesn't seem too bad so far.

Thanks for that link Goomba! I love XP movie maker!
I like windows 7 paint, I guess its about the same as XP. Although, I have windows 7 STARTER, so maybe the programs are a little different than the standard version of 7.

Well, they are quite different here, at least I think they are really different: Good to know though I'm not the only one that hates Windows Live Movie Maker so much.

My Windows 7 paint looks different: EDIT: Nevermind, make the window bigger and yours will look like mine.

Windows XP is probably my favorite OS, overall. I really liked how simple it was, but still powerful. Windows 7 is probably my second favorite, while Windows Vista is my least favorite.
