Your fine point tank shooting will not save you from a sniper. The CZAR is slow and bulky, making you an easy snipe target. Also, the Blast Cannon player and it's use is dependant upon the sucessful killing your opponent and his tank instead of his drones, essentially heading off his direct attack. If I were playing you I would target you from a distance, preferably while you are looking around or were busy and then send the drones to pay you a visit. Of course, I'd be somewhere in there, I'd be the one sending the thumper your way, awaiting your upside flight. The CCA CZAR, is no match for the Grizzly's speed and versatility, although its hull and ammo aren't as high as the CZAR, it has higher ammo and hull level over the B-Dog Grizzly. I do agree in a distant head on fight you should generally win, as the NSDF tanks are no match to take the CZAR head on.
I also agree with you the C.C.A. is a powerful source, but disagree and do not believe it is the better side by any means, especially if you are going to build a fort. A better tactics for the CCA side would be to fill the ranks with all 10 tanks, upgraded to 2 SP-Stabbers, a Thumper, and a Pop-Mine. and move A LOT. I guess ideally if you had an hour to build and had plenty of scrap, then yes, CCA would be the only side to play in a defensive posture.
It is interesting to see different and effective builds and to be able to compare my own set up with them. A note in your first post, If you build a constructor and 3 scavengers... The comment should be left at two (2) scavengers. Unless you are close to scrap, you will be waiting, burning valuable time for enough scrap to build your silo. Of course this depends on the map. It would be the safer comment to say build a constructor, 2 scavs, have them follow you to a scrap field, build a silo and after it's completed send the scavs to scavenge. Wait until after the silo is built or the scavengers will return to the recycler with the scrap, instead of the much closer silo.
Your arrangement is excellent and looks to be effective and efficient. I'm sure this build changes map to map and player to player.
All in all you are very informative and complete, once I get a bit of my skills back, I shall enjoy playing you and testing your theories here.

On Rec diving;
Do not build towers so close to your recycler... it's just bad for business. On the same token, as you visit different areas of your map, you should be placing nav beacons in inconspicuous places, out of sight so to speak. Be aware of when your opponent has visited an area or areas he has taken scrap from. Generally these are placed in the "He's not there" category. Once he finds your Recycler and you defend it, make the general consensus as to whether you are going to move it or allow it to remain. If you opponent is a strong player, then start figuring out where you are going to send it while he is recovering from the wounds you gave him. The best place for a recycler to be, is where he just was... as far as he knows that area is clear. On the same token, it is a great risk to move it as it is an easy kill while not on a geyser. This strategy is one that you need to tinker with and to get the feel of. Different level of players calls for different thought processes. The intensity of the battle is equally as important. I once played Shogun on Corners and placed my Recycler on his side, out of site. Due to the intensity of the fight, I can't tell you how many times he went by it, time and time again. Once he drove me back and hit both my left and right sides, knowing I know better than to place it in the center he briefly stopped the game and asked if he had killed my Recycler, he couldn't remember. Of course, I lied and said yes. It had been dead for a while. That's when I called it back to my side knowing he was going to start spreading out and setting up for a huge assault. Later when he found my recycler, he almost pooped his pants. That's when I told him where it was. We both had a good laugh out of it.
I think I won that game, but then he may as well also. I don't recall.
Anyways, you are your best defense for your recycler. You are most effective as a mobile entity. Additionally only send tanks 3 at a time at your opponent when he attacks. They will bunch up and he will single handedly do them in. He may not have enough ammo to deal with you, but thats just a tank hop (pick up) away.

I forgot to put a link on my strat guide to this topic, but that has been fixed now. I keep adding stuff there, improving it, so comments to something changeable don't seem appropriate. If someone here asks: "Hey Spock, how to...", I will answer and then add that subject there. Someone's question to my guide, with that question already answered, would look silly, and that's why I made a separate topic for it.
Besides, having all stratters (beginners and pros) discussing strategy on 1 topic seems like a better idea than having your thoughts spread out all over this place...

Same reason why I locked my topic, and moved your posts here FURION. More stuff will be added to that topic in time.

Good deal!
I do see a lot of good sound tactics, in playing this game. I only wish I could play as well as I could remember the tactics I used in this game.
I probably was the only one who for a long, long time, combining Strategy, Death Match and Sniping in my games.
They all have a place.

I read Jons set up and it just reinforced my perspectives of his game play... impeccable!
It is interesting to see how he entwines both his offense and defense in both his fort and satellite sub stations.
I do think that jon and I would have had some tremendous games had it not been for all the lag, of course it didn't help other issues also played into the hand that set us apart. Looking back, had I had it to do over again, I would not have posted such things in my forums (Jon knows what I'm talking about) and if you are reading this jon, or if you do I do wish I could take that part back. Just know I do regret it.
Also, there was nothing neither one of us could do about the lag, accept to accept it. My temper and arrogance was a bit on the extreme side and sought confrontation not resolution. I do apologize for that as well.
Anyways, I'm back for a while and hopefully will be entertainment for those of whom I used to beat, lol.

Hi Furion I just happen to be back a bit too after 2 years retirement. My strattips may be outdatet, anyway vs the top 5 players of today. But it still is a fun way of playing and good for a lot of intense action. Things could get rough at times yes, as if the game itself isn't rough enough lol. Yeah I know what you mean about posting on your forums and it was kind of a problem back then because my son was 9? years young then and wasn't able to deal with it as well as you would expect from adults. He knew you as one of the top guns in BZ, in both strategy and sniping, and also as a police officer in real life. He got addet a few inches to his length overnight when he got in quite some sniper shots on you in a pretty even game. He got disappointed when being accused for being hacked, first personally in game, and then in public on the web. He quit showing up in the lobby for quite some time after that. So yes I got engaged a bit and went into confrontation. You may understand that today because you're having a 10 year young kid yourself I read Anyway, he got finished with it and got also familiar with how it all is/can be on the internet. Apologies are accepted. I am trying getting my PC in shape for some BZ action. I've been without PC and internet long time because BZ got me in trouble in real life, both family and at work. I finally got to the point and managed to cut the cable. Causes one to shiver a few weeks but then you recover and come to appreciate real life again I just got my PC back home again. It's nearly as old as BZ and I have some trouble getting BZ to run as I believe it used too run. It's noisy and slow. I see what I can do about it, I doubt I'm going to buy a new one. I have a tiny lil laptop that runs BZ pretty smooth but it's damn small and gives me "error opening transport". Don't hope it's the neigbors router because I also doubt I should get an internet connection myself. It sure would be fun to play some again now that I have time. I do what I can to get to the lobby soon and get the other stuff in order. Check out my stratmap when Spock releases the new BZ98 installer. It's been half finished for nearly 3 years and I finally got it done last week.

Ya know amongst all the strife and conversation, I never apologized to him.
Please have him stop in and view these forums, as I do extend my most humblest of apologies to him.
I don't know what screen names he goes by so I'll address him as Jon's son:
Jon's son, years ago I made a number of mistakes with you, we all know what they are and they don't need to be brought up here, or ever again. I do offer you my sincerest apologies for what was said and done back then, I was an over competitive idiot and you didn't deserve the such. I don't know if it will make a difference now, to you, but do know I regret everything that transpired. You didn't deserve any of it. I apologize whole heartily, to you and do hope to find you on the BZ playing field soon. I would much rather meet and apologize as formerly as I can.
Also, it would mean a lot to me, if you would oblige me with a game or two, if it's not to much to ask.
I understand if my apologies come to late or aren't accepted, it would nothing less than deserved.
Again, I humbly apologize.
Sincerely, FURION

He'll probably appreciate your words.. Can't promis he's going to be involved in BZ anytime soon but I'll mention it for him. So how is it to get beaten up by your boy. My kid those days sniped me to death with scores like 70-5. Couldn't get it Not to speak about kicking Sho's, Hi Pal and other butts in strat hehe.

It was fun, he laughed his butt off every time he killed me. Said he couldn't believe I was actually good at the game... ever.
I would never have believed that I would be playing that game with my own son. It is indeed an interesting experience.
