Hi I was wondering if there are any ways to modify my firewall with out opening a port? I have a Linksys wireless broadband router Model N.O. WRT300N.
Note: if any one reading this post has attempted to join a multiplayer game hosted by "Joseph", that is my other name.

It depends on your router. Ports on my router (Siemens) were opened since the beginning. Check your router firewall and try to loosen it up a bit.
What's your issue? 100 loss to half people in the lobby? Nobody can join your game? You can join some games but you crash when you launch it?

Nobody can join my game and I can't join games. I am not exactly sure what you mean by "loosen it up a bit" but unless I can change the settings without loosening up overall security my Dad doesn't want me to do it. Which means I can't open up ports in the router because any hacker who happens to ping that port can wipe my hard drive. I am hoping that there is a way to allow BZ to access the internet freely without in the same motion make it more easy for hackers to my comp.
If anything I said was unclear please let me know and I can explain.

I can't help you if you are refusing to do what needs to be done. If you were on the server and if you saw some players that means some of your ports are already opened. Opening few more won't change a thing. You watched too many hacker-movies. Some firewalls have few levels of protection. Loosening up means finding one that allows you to play BZ, while keeping your protection. My router was set like that when it came from the factory. Nobody wiped my hard drive.

Thanks for the information, I hope that the fact that some ports are already open may help my case.
Thanks for your help.

WRT300NThat's a support page for your router. I checked that pdf guide (get downloads), and on 35th page you can find a lot of options for your firewall. Experimenting with those should allow you to play BZ.

Thanks! I will have to see if this works, and I lately found out that my broadband modem is going to need some modifying but that shouldn't be hard because i doubt my dad will have any problems with me disabling a firewall he didn't even know existed (nor me for that matter) until a few days ago.
