This is on a 32-bit vista desktop. (More info below.) I had 1.4L installed and only was using it in non-3d card mode on highest screen resolution. The frame rate was very low and froze up a lot. But it was way worse with a lower resolution. Now I put it in 3d card mode on highest resolution and it a=has better graphics and doesn't freeze up. But it has other problems. The N, S, E and W on the mini map are just white squares. :( Any unit that had a letter turned into a green square that is bigger than a building. :? And when it beeps and should make a little circle come out from me on the mini map instead it makes a big white square that fades away. And where there is the little scrap meter sometimes the black behind it turns white. And a lot of times when I shoot a lot of times the bullet or geysers or enemy or explosions or tiles of ground turn into white squares that are sometimes transparent.
So I downloaded* 1.4M. When I turn on enable high resolutions, show statistics, enhanced large textures, alpha blending and halftexel it is the same as 1.4L. Without alpha blending it crashes. Without halftexel the words are messed up. Pre-load spites doesn’t do anything. Pre-load terrain crashes it. Z-buffer makes the plasma rifle look like cockpit detail is on but also makes the crosshair disappear if I take damage. Mip-mapping and triple buffering don’t do anything. I tried changing the nvidia settings just for battlezone: I would change them and apply them and everything but when I closed it and opened the control panel again the settings that I made where gone! :x

Here is some info I found: :?:

Ask if you want a screen shot of something. It might almost be easier for a video.

Another thing that I noticed is that with enhanced large textures on it makes me flip around a lot more when I eject than without it. :?:

Oh and sorry spock I guess that this problem is only on this computer.

Later I will post about my router problem.

*download: I can’t download from battlezone1.net.com because it just has the directions and then under that the go get it button and then modify. No pass code or anything. So I downloaded it from the slow torrent. :?:

Thanks for such a comprehensive posts. The more info we get it will be easier to find a fix. If not today, tomorrow... :P

It's not Vista.
If your radar was normal in software mode, but broken in hardware mode it's obvious that it's a graphic card issue. Unfortunatelly, you are one of those with dx10 problems. You need to use older driver (not always helpful) or wait for newer to fix it. Check Nvidia site every month for updates.

Split Z-Buffer should be on if your sniper camera is green when off.

Extra spinning is normal thing with Large Assets (Enhanced, large Textures), that's why most people turn it off. It is official graphical patch and Bz looks much prettier with all those extra effects. Besides spinning every explosion will be bigger, you will see dust made by thrusters etc.

I checked battlezone1.net site; download starts when I press on "Go Get It". Later today 1.4N is coming, it will have 2 download links, try then again.

I have the newest driver and can't find where to download old drivers.

I'm guessing split z-buffer only works if if you have z-buffer on. I don't turn it on because it makes the cross hair disappear if I take damage. It is kind of cool because it makes the rifle appear as if I have cockpit detail on.

Before, if I clicked go get it, it had a url error but now it seams to be fixed. I'm downloading 1.4N now.

I don't know where to download this new nvidia patch.

Sounds strange, but "split z-buffer" ON works with "use z-buffer" OFF for me.

You have version 175, there's 177 (beta) available for download.

I remembered you said try an older driver so I downloaded the oldest one there but it had errors when I tried to install it. So I downloaded the second oldest one and it fixed my problem! :D

Thank you Spock!
