Hi, nice to be on the forum. If I missed something already posted, don't flame me or something.
I can't seem to create a ship skin, say an nsdf grizzly, and be able to see the texture as I see it in the paint program. It seems that I need to have a particular .ACT or something like that. The program I use is Adobe Photoshop 5.0 LE, and I use MS paint once in a while. I have a Custom Skin Tutorial v1.2 by Zen, but I don't have his bzcommon.pal, just the text. What I am trying to say is, could someone help me with making my own skins based on the stock ones?

Ok, I figured out how to load the .ACT files in photoshop, however I still don't know why It looks way different colors. I was using the mars.act from the bzone.zfs, but it still doesn't work. looks like really weird camo. If anybody could give me some pointers or show me where the common color .act file is, I would be very happy.

I think objects.act is a good palette, although I really don't understand everything about vehicle skins and palettes and noticed no visual difference when using MapViewer with BZ's different palettes and viewing ship textures.
