Battlezone 1

TRO is one of the main reasons I was brought to this site. I've had several friends who want to get TRO, but can't cause they can't find it. Another person had the same dilemma in another topic in this forum. Many people here want TRO to be open to the public again, so vote here whether it should be an option on BZ1.net like it used to be. Hopefully, the admins will see the opinion of the people and act accordingly. (or at least put the installer in the extras )

The Red Odyssey has not yet been updated to 1.5 and also the online server for it apparently isn't being run any longer. Don't worry, at some point soon TRO will be back

No, I mean I want the downloader to still be on BZ1.net. I know it's not 1.5 yet, but I still want it as an option.

Are you expecting us to eventually find the source code and for Ken to patch it like he did with BZ? That would be terrific. Unfortunately, no one has the RO code.

i think he means a sepreate installer for the RO. but from what i understand you actually need bz to play the RO since it steals some assets from the BZ installation.

Separate installer for RO is coming soon... It won't be playable on most systems, though.

I don't mind TRO not getting updated. Infact I forgot at the time of posting that no one so far had access to the source code because it was made by Team Evolve which is (?) fan based (?).

Could you tell us which ones? Or at least tell us whether it can't play on later systems (win. 7, etc.) or earlier systems (XP)

As far as I know, RO has all the same issues as Battlezone 1.4.

Which means that it will work on Windows 2000/Me, XP and Windows 7 32bit. As for 64 bit, I don't know.

RO and BZ 1.4 worked on my Win 7 64 bit just fine.

Of course, it doesn't just depend on OS, but hardware as well. Just go here to view topics about 1.4 issues.

NO ONE has the source code for RO? What about the original designers? (Although I suppose they wouldn't hand out the RO code like that...)

Don't get your hopes up, thinking that the next RO installer is going to somehow run well like BZ 1.5. By asking for RO installer, you're basically asking for Battlezone 1.4, except it's the expansion for Battlezone. Still, it will indeed be nice to have RO back.

I really don't care about whether it's 1.4 or not. Some of the RO missions are some of my favorite out there and like you said, it'll be great to have RO back!
