Hey, I just recently downloaded the PC version of this game (after playing the N64 version for years), but I have some rather annoying sound problems. Seems like when there is a lot happening, I get a horrible, terrible static sound. It's rather distracting. Does anyone know how I might fix it?
I also have a problem with my radar. All the blips appear black. This is another rather distracting problem, as you can imagine.
I'm running this on an E6750 Dual Core processor, 4 Gigs of ram and a 9600GT Nvidia car. My sound car is a Realtek audio device built into my Shuttle motherboard, and the OS is Windows XP. I hope someone can help, because other than these two issues, the game seems leagues better than the N64 version and I'd really love to enjoy it to the fullest extent.
EDIT: Well, I fixed the radar issue by downloading the latest nVidia drivers (durr), but still have the same sound problems. EDIT 2: Know what? Both of these issues were solved by installing new drivers. I feel like a damned idiot. Didn't really think of it at first since it's an old game and all. Oh well, I guess now other people can use this as a reference point should they have the same problems. Or just laugh at me.

Hey, hehe, I'm glad you made it. We need more good news, like this one, in Tech Support.

Playing this game on PC is a whole different game from the N64 version. So much more intuitive. I do have two other questions though. How do I view the intro, and is there any music in the game? Every time I try and watch the intro, the screen goes black for a second and then goes back to the menu. And there is no music anywhere in the game for me. I also have a few small nagging issues, like the radar slowing down sometimes, but nothing that makes any real difference.

I presume you have Battlezone 1998 installer? The game looks for intro and music on CD. Only other way to see it (hear it) is if you play it manually. Music is in your "Extras" folder, while Intro was too big (not needed so much) for installer, but you can watch it here.XANA, another member here also came from Nintendo version. Edit: You can download both Intro and Outro here.

Ah, another new player! Welcome! Technical issues resolved and game up and running. Great to know. Don't watch the outro video until you clear the NSDF Campaign!
