Hello everyone! First I would like to applaud any and all effort made to keep this game alive. This truly is a gem of the gaming industry and this forum is really appreciated, so thank you!

I have a question. I own both BZ and RO CDs and can play them fine on a minimal vista setup. I can't seem to find a solution, however, to looping the soundtrack throughout the game. The music will quit after the last track. Has anyone else had this problem? I've tried to set compatibility to win98 and the game will not start due to UE error. I cycled through winNT, 2000 and XP but fear that's the wrong fix. Does anyone have any suggestions?

In my experience, the music is endless. In The Red Odyssey, it seems that it sometimes takes a while for the music to start over after the last track ends. It might also involve user input. When I'm in the shell, the music will quit after the last track, then if I make my mouse pointer hover over a button, the music starts again. I don't think you actually have a problem, and I don't think any compatibility mode would change how music plays.

thanks for taking a look. :) i remember back in '98 when i first played RO (on win98) the music did stop for maybe 2 minutes and then restart. This was during missions, playing full-screen. RO has a short soundtrack and some missions start around the last "song" which will play and then i'm left playing the rest of the 15 min mission with no music. I don't know how to fix it so that the music will cycle the way i remember it.

Hmm, 15 minutes waiting for the music to restart sounds a bit crazy. For me, it only seems to take about 1 minute for the first track to start again after the final track ends.

Watch Final Black Dog Mission Part 2, which along with other videos is posted in the Single Player Videos topic. Skip to 2:00. The last track is playing and will soon end. Before the mission ended, the first track did start to play again.

Maybe it has something to do with your CD ROM drive? I really have no idea. I don't think it would matter, but I wasn't using the physical CD when I recorded the video, I was using a virtual CD (image file). I'll have to put in the actual disk sometime and see if it makes a difference.

By the way, welcome to the Battlezone 1 Community. :D
