Maybe they would work. And XANA, perhaps maybe put some of those headsets to sell on eBay, I could use some.

I've got a headset that works, though when I tried to check in on TeamSpeak, it said that the server is offline, and I didn't reach it.
It said: [21:10:33] No reply from server Maybe the server is offline or maybe teamspeak is not running on it.
Any idea what's going on?

I also get that from my computer.
Any ideas why this is doing this?

Checked it just now, it's working.
By the way, we got 2 little kittens a while back and they ripped the headset cord. I'll eventually try to repair it as I cannot get a new headset until September.

If you catch them playing with cords, pop them on the nose or butt (whatever's handy, and it doesn't have to be hard) and holler a loud "No!". No need to get angry or anything, but it's important to establish negative reinforcement. It does mean you actually have to get up and cross the room to make it clear you mean business. Merely hollering doesn't do the job. Otherwise you may find fried cat as they decide to attack an electrical cord with 110v on it. And cats being cats, they'll occasionally forget as they get older, so just holler "NO" again at them if you hear them messing with cords. If you've done the job right while they're young, it doesn't take much to get them to behave when they're older. Check out all the cords Harley might potentially play with, but knows not to: http://www.sewingwitch.com/harley/

I taped the individual wires back together using electrical tape, and it still won't work. Maybe a soldering job is needed to actually connect them electrically, but I need to be 100% sure I have them matched up before making it that permanent. I'm pretty sure I have them matched, the electrical tape probably just doesn't hold them together the way they need to be. Yeah, I give them "negative reinforcement" when they even go under the table that I have my computers on. My headset was destroyed while I slept. Once I get a new one, I'll be sure to store it away in its packaging when I'm not using it. I have the tools needed to solder, and I bought some alligator clips for my 3rd hand, since I somehow lost the original alligator clips it came with. Mine doesn't have the magnifying glass attachment. Soldering isn't something I particularly enjoy, but I have the equipment left over from advanced electronics class in high school. Whether I fix it or not, would be nice to have 2 of them, one for my bro.

You might consider using a Bluetooth headset instead of a wired one. Get a tiny Bluetooth USB dongle for the computer. This one works well: http://us.kensington.com/html/9403.htmlI think I paid $20 for mine at BestBuy.
