What actually is different in NSDF #14. (The scrap collecting level) if you destroy the relic to the north east of the base, (the one you are warned to ignore.) Because I blew it up for poohs and giggles. And didn't notice any difference. Thoughts?

I don't know the credibility of this thought, but I was told that if you blew it up, it destroys the planet. Dunno if thats the case though.

Yeah, I know what relic you mean, the "Tartarus" relic in NSDF #14 "United We Fight - United We Die". "Uh commander, I don't think we want to be messing with that..." Blow it up if you want. NOTHING HAPPENS. LOL. Well... it might prove to be a distraction and the Furies will kill all your scavs.

With a name like tartarus it should open hell and furies should rain down from high. Big disappointment.

It would be better if when you destroyed it suddenly 500 furies showed up and then you hear a message saying "commander; you didnt mess with tartarus did you?"

Maybe not that many, I just envisaged a fair few descending from the north, basically ramping up the difficulty of what is a fairly straightforward mission if you play it right. With scavs being shepherded by a tank each.

yeah i have no clue whats up with that relic at all. but ONE time when playing that mission, my tank got destroyed somewhere in the middle-eastern area of the map. my base was on the southern side, and as i was flying through the air after ejecting, i saw below me a CRAPLOAD of the furies spawning at this one random spot on the eastern side. i had collected enough scrap by the time i made it home though and nothing else happened. i dont remember if i had gone close to the relic or not, but thats my crazy story for that mission.

Apparently in an IA mission. Tartarus sprouts around 5-6 bolt mines. And they will shoot.

The mission is "Great Pyramid" The Tartarus already is red enemy from the start though.

After the first try you get an idea of what you have to do. Though when approx. 40 fury tanks start charging at you, it gets freaky. Also, do you know that in the IA missions the Fury Recycler looks like a CCA constructor?

When making custom units for IA missions, almost any model can be used for almost anything. I once made a walker that looked like a CCA pilot. The intention was coming up with clever ideas for an infiltration IA mission, where NSDF pilot wears a CCA disguise to infiltrate CCA territory or something. It's a "real" disguise, because you can hop out or eject to take it off. Unfortunately, I don't actually know how to make IA missions yet. I don't even fully understand the map editor.
Potential spoiler below, copy and paste into notepad or something to read it. If you beat the IA mission called "Vendetta", the MISSION COMPLETE screen tells you that some of the Factories you destroyed were actually Recyclers in disguise.
