He used fraps, for I told him where to get it.

Do you or GOLEM use any special settings to record? I'm trying to record with the 3d card enabled but the FPS is very unstable, usually get around 45 FPS with some random frame skipping during gameplay. (video turns out OK though)

No special settings, just launch fraps, and open game.

That simple.

Oh, and you can record game sound using the Fraps Settings, to say 'Record Sound'

well i play bz without 3d on
so i dont know my videos canbe bright and stable
i use fraps like fighter told me to
and i use the moviemaker to put the videos together


note frap viedos take alot of memory
30 secconds recording takes 265 mb BUT MOVIE MAKER SHRINKS IT
so u might have a 20to 30 mb videos

never knew how much memmory fraps videos can use up.

Yea, that's the tricky part. In software mode, my current laptop does what my new one does, 200+ uncontrollable FPS. So far the only way I could get the game to record is by using smooth textures, which really does look horrid.

I use Hardware mode.

Yeah, hardware mode works fine for me too, software mode causes my game video to be so jerky that it is like it hangs and I would have to do ESC key and go back in again to "wake it up".
In software mode, I'd get something like:

single digit fps at start, jumping to 100.5 or something like that, then go up to 224 (highest I've seen it), then back down to 100s and then down once more to the low single digits and repeat.

Well what I mean is, software mode is unplayable, and hardware mode recording only goes up to about 45 FPS max, unless I change to smooth textures. I might just stick with that and note the crummy graphics is from it not recording right when I upload.
