Right now its in pre-alpha, so yes, Battlezone 1 is much better. But it is starting to look pretty promising. It's just gonna be a long while before it's worth playing.

There's not a BZ3 installer on the site any more than there's a Halo 3 installer on the site. This "BZ3" thing is an unofficial fan project. Just because some faction on the internet decides to make a new game doesn't mean the BZ community needs to jump on it or support it. The 1.5 patch development is unofficial too, but it's the new version of Battlezone, which is the game we all enjoy.

I think it should be more called BZE3, as they both have the same ridiculous things thrown in (BZ2 vehicles, stuff from other games, stuff that has nothing to do with BZ at all). If you want to play it, go ahead, but I'll be playing in the real Battlezone.

Well, you do have to understand that they have to avoid copyright issues, so that is the main reason for most of it. And oh I'll still be playing the real BZ. No question there, I'm just watching it to see how it turns out. A lot of the devs seem to want to lean more towards BZ1 rather than BZ2, but, we'll see how it goes!

As far as I know, they have said they want to lean more towards BZ1's style of gameplay than BZ2's, because many of the members of the site prefer the first game. Then again, how much do I know?

In fact, they decided that there wouldn't be many BZ2 elements in it at all. While they are putting things in that are not BZ (because of copyright), they are NOT putting in stuff from other games. You're just saying things that you don't know just to bash their community. I am all for a group of people making a promising game inspired by BZ even if it isn't BZ itself. Calling the bz3 community bzE3 is an insulting and unnecessary comment. The Bz3 community is just a group of people inspired by BZ1 and BZ2 that want to go into video game making as well as make a game as a tribute to those of us who love BZ as much as they do. We should be happy for them. Don't make up things and try to make yourself seem intelligent to pretty much insult them and those who are interested.

I tried their last alpha, and I could indentify it more as BZ2 than BZ1. That's all I know because now they made it closed beta testing. I don't believe it could change so rapidly in a matter of months anyway. I don't say things I don't know for sure, so stop saying that, as it's wrong. Why would I be bashing their community, I am just saying things which are true. They may tried to have made it more like BZ1, but then they pretty much failed. Of course this is my opinion, and yours can vary. I wonder why everyone involved with BZ3 has to rage so bad whenever one doesn't like their work, Adj.Lenovsky acted exactly the same when I said something bad about BZ3. If you guys are not open to critics then it'll never turn out in something good.

I remember downloading the very first pre-alpha, and yes, it looked more like BZ2, but it didn't feel like it. It felt like its own game, which is how it should. It's still early in development, so I'm not going to judge how it is yet. If it turns out to be fun, great, if not, I simply won't play it. There's nothing wrong with them making it, though don't get angry if people are saying something against it on BZ1-specific site. It'd be different if it was taken to the site for "Project Genesis," but here the majority of users will dislike the idea. If somebody IS saying they dislike it, try to move to fix those problems instead of doing a rant here. True, it surely isn't "BZE3" because there was no "BZE2" and it's clearly not a modded version of BZ1 .

I am all for someone trying to make a BZ3
It is supposed to be a side story of the ORIGIONAL bz. Even though i am a fan of BZ2(only because of the mods) bz1 is the best and it will be EXTREALMLY hard to beat it.
BUT, if they can make a bz3 that is worth playing they have accomplished something great. NOTHING will ever ever ever be able to replace bz1. Although it will probably be worth haveing on your computer.
ALL FOR IT!

You can't change my mind on it, I just don't like it. The thing I just don't like is how they suppose everyone that ever touched BZ1 or BZ2 should totally like it and support it all they can. There are people that rather play the original instead of BZ3 made some group of people, they'll have to accept that. Calling it BZE3 is my opinion, sure there never was a BZE2 but I am sure you all know what I mean here. I just don't see the point in making BZ3 while both Battlezone 1 and 2 are still alive and kicking ass. It would be another story if nobody was playing the two original games anymore, and a group of players wanted to get the game back they loved so much.

Actually, many people were dissapointed with the gap between BZ1 and BZ2. There is a HUGE time span difference. People wanted to find out what happened during that time. SO BANG the bz3 idea was born. It is about time someone actually took up the challenge.
And yes goomba (as u said) bz1 and 2 are both alive and kicking ass, but the time span gap is still there and some people want it filled.

By that logic, the last 3 Call of Duty games should have never been made. Just saying.
