Ok, I am running windows vista with 4gb, an Intel q6600, and an EVGA GTS 250 512MB. I can run BZ just fine with 3d off (which stinks cause I would like that to work). But when I run RO it will give me a UE after I start the mission. I think its because the 3d is on, but when I turn it off and restart the game, it is back on again. I would like to find a way to keep it off. Or if anything, a fix to get the 3d to work. any ideas? I can run BZ in window AND full, RO will open in window and full, but is not playable since it crashes on me lol. any help would be great (never played RO so I am kinda excited to get it running).

A little more info, I tryed changing my resolution before I launched a mission, and I get to hear audio of the mission, but the screen is black.

Default shortcut for BZ and RO are D3D on. There are shortcuts in the start menu for Battlezone 1998 in "Troubleshooting" section that start BZ and RO in software mode or window mode.
Does fullscreen D3D mode work if you set resolution to 800x600 or higher?

idk what happened, but full screen and the highest resolution works fine now. So its all good! I am having issues with some things now though, the compass, all there is on it are white boxes, and there is a red square above the enemy units. and random white squares flash on the ground.

White boxes, and probably all other graphical errors you mentioned, are related to dx10 cards and their drivers lacking support for dx3 that bz 1.4 runs on. There's little hope that next month driver will fix that, but I wouldn't count on it. That's why we are making 1.5 patch, which uses dx9.
