Battlezone 1

Hello,

I just installed the 1998 BZ Installer and have the Battlezone 1 disk mounted on D. When I try to load any of the single player games from the main menu, the screen goes black and an error shows up saying "Unhandled Exception" followed by BZ crashing. However I've noticed that when I run the game in windowed mode, it plays fine except for a few rendering issues where the object appear in bright colors.

My specs are:
Windows 7
Intel Core 2 2.6Ghz
2GB RAM
Nvidia GeForce 8600M GT

Hi. Try setting the resolution in "GRAPHIC OPTIONS" to 800x600 or higher.

Awesome! That seemed to fix my problem. Battlezone runs fine now except for this one minor issue. The black background of the scrap meter will often turn white and then back to black again. What could be causing that?

Hm, is your radar only showing green squares as well? Seems you could have an NVIDIA card that only supports DX9 and DX10.

The radar is fine but I see green and white squares elsewhere such as in the lens flare. It's probably an issue with my video card.

Yeah, BZ has issues with some video cards. You could try installing older drivers for your video card. If that doesn't work, just keep trying newer drivers.

I have the same problem. iv been having to run in window mode. win7 with hp dv9700 laptop. not the newest geforce 8400m

at one point i was able to lower the resolution down to 800 x 600 and run in full screen. not working now

it graphics options wont let me chose anything other than 640 x 480

Turn 3D card back ON.

3d is on. but i still seem to have to lower my laptop resolution before playing bz

i also have another issue, perhaps for a new thread, the menus are all scrunched up

Then get out of the window mode; it allows max 640x480.
Run full screen with 800x600 or higher.
