Hi there,
Im new to the forum and find it via google during my research for actual BattleZone Stuff. Downloaded your BattleZone 98-Pack for simplicity reasons (still own a BattleZone-CD but didnt want to do all the patching for myself) and playd a bit already with it.
Unfortunately Ive got a real strange performance-problem. Framerates drop sometimes (mostly during fights) to a really terribly level around 5 fps. Completely unplayable! Already tried nearly all available options from the BattleZone-Config-Tool, the ingame-Settings, Graphics und CPU-Settings, nothing seems to solve or even minimize my problems. Sometimes it runs really fine around 60 - 90 fps but then, a fight or some more units on the screen, and Ive got a slowdown. CPU-Utilisation gehts mostly to around 100%, so I guess it should be a CPU-related thing, but Im not sure what.
Guess a bug as my machine should really be powerful enough (Athlon XP 2200MHz, 1GB RAM, GForce 7600@GT, 256 RAM, WinXP SP3 32Bit)
Anybody else got such strange problems yet?
Your frustrated Kultloesungen

Is this only happening in Single player, or multiplayer? Both?

Is there a possibilty to run a local game for myself (perhaps with AI opponents) or do I have to find a multiplayer-match on the internet with human enemies?

There's a rumor it helps, but I don't have Nvidia card to test it... Well I read your linked thread but I still dont know Never expierienced such a thing as yellow screens. Trilinear filtering should be off as I was testing with various anisotropic filters (vom none to 16x), but I will check that again (driver and RivaTuner). Strangely the game runs pretty good an my laptop (Turion 1.6 GHz and Radeon 200Xpress Onboard). I guess its really simply a problem of my graphics card or the driver of that thing or arg whatever... Thanks for your help so far!

Odd, my issue is the opposite of yours.
My computer's FPS raises up without fail to around 70-80 points for seemingly-no reason and I have tried everything to get it down again. I can't contact for help within Battlezone multiplayer since I can't run it (Windows Explorer crashes whenever it runs and takes it down with it). I also experience severe lag, but I haven't yet determined whether it was connection lag (like "Warping" or me and my units doing weird maneuvers) or local lag (like on my computer and no one else would see it).

VSync should limit your Framerate to the rate of your monitor-refresh. Everything else sounds strange to me, sorry...
