I finally got the IA missions configured (respect to whomever wrote BZConfig9000) and have been playing those recently. Some seem like empty Strat or DM Maps with no clear objective, while others could have been in the original campaigns. Anyway, it would be great to get some opinions from the vets as to which IA missions are their favorites. I know many people don't bother with IA but if you do any feedback would be appreciated.

The shortcuts to IA missions are in the start menu, but it is easier to have them all in 1 list in the utility and launch whichever one you want. The Count wrote: Some seem like empty Strat or DM Maps with no clear objective, while others could have been in the original campaigns. There's more than just IA missions in the list. You can directly launch any mission from the training, any mission from the Battlezone or Red Odyssey campaign, and any multiplayer map, for exploration purposes. Anything that starts with "NSDF #", "CCA #", "BDog #", or "CRA #" is a campaign mission, while anything that starts with "Instant Action:" is an IA mission. Anything that starts with "Strategy:" or "Deathmatch:" is a multiplayer map, which will of course be empty with nothing to do. I can't really say which is my favorite, but some of them are based on multiplayer maps, which help prepare you for multiplayer a little bit. A few of them even have snipers that are waiting to end you! I'll list a few that I like: Though I Walk Ice Ice Baby Blast Chamber Tunguska Canyon Madness

Excellent. I'll have to check out Tunguska & Canyon Madness. I haven't played either of those. I can't find Ice Ice Baby in IA, only Strat. Tho-i-walk has a crazy opening. Great starting voiceover. That's what I like about Config9000; you can select any mission from any of the campaigns without iamadirtycheater and it seems to be the only shell that will launch IA's on my system. I like MP but sometimes I'm in the mood for SP and you can only play the BZ/TRO campaigns so many times. The integrated map editor feature is great for practice and spices the standard SP missions up a bit also. I'm doing the Red Wolf missions now and so far they're pretty damn good. Good feedback, thanks.

I'm glad you like it. I modeled it off of the basic BZ Config Utility that comes in the installer, and then I added stuff that the original utility didn't have. I also got tired of typing "IAMADIRTYCHEATER" any time I wanted to jump into one of the campaign missions. In particular I like to play the 7th mission in the Chinese campaign from time to time, since it can be such a challenge.

Config9000 is your baby? Very nice. Kinda feel like an ass now. I'd rank CRA #7 as one of the toughest missions. You gotta be damn quick on the plasma rifle and I'm not a very strong sniper. That one has gotten me close to putting my fist through the screen This may not be the right forum section to post this but has anyone gotten a mission complete on IA Massacre? I think I wiped the map & I can't find a single unit, building, or even an ejected pilot but it keeps going. Maybe no ending?

Some IA missions require you to destroy ALL ENEMY UNITS. Many times there is a turret hiding somewhere after you destroy everything you can find. Hunting can be fun, but sometimes I use the radar cheat to locate the last unit. (CTRL+SHIFT+BZRADAR) I don't have Massacre IA mission installed, but maybe I'll try it.

Tunguska is my favored IA mission, but I would prefer an IA mission where the CCA faction can be proudly used in battle.

Massacre isn't anything special... just another mission where the entire map is the enemy base and they have over 9000 scrap and pilots which makes for an endless fight, unless you use the raves they give you.

Tunguska and Canyon Madness seem to be everyone's favorites and (of course) I can't seem to find them. Are they in the IA Zip Index? If anyone has a url or link to the IA files for either it would be greatly appreciated. HyperFighter wrote: Tunguska is my favored IA mission, but I would prefer an IA mission where the CCA faction can be proudly used in battle. I'm currently working through the Red Wolf Missions where you represent the CCA and I gotta say they're pretty damn good, they really could've been in the original campaigns; clear objectives, good design and challenging. I think the idea was to have a Soviet counterpart to the Black Dogs. Sporkinator wrote: Massacre isn't anything special... just another mission where the entire map is the enemy base and they have over 9000 scrap and pilots which makes for an endless fight, unless you use the raves they give you. Yeah, it is a no objective, pure shoot-em-up IA and after the initial firefights it gets kinda dull. It really isn't the type of mission I like to play but after 2 hours of clearing sections I really wanted that mission complete screen. Anyway, I relented, took Sporkinator's advice and BZRADAR'd it and sure enough there was a Fury stuck behind a boundary wall (really strange topography also). Rave guns have great visual FX but imo it's almost like cheating, they're just to powerful. Kinda like picking away at a base 300 meters out with a Mag

I think Tunguska and Canyon Madness were removed from the IA Index, but I did manage to find a great .zip directory that does have it (and about 100 more). So if anyone else is looking for Tunguska or new IA Missions this site has plenty. Tunguska was fun but not very challenging. The Red Wolf missions are still my favorites (mission 8 was quite the bitch). I'll be trying Fury Hell next. Anyway, thanks to all for the feedback
