Certainly possible. Regarding 1.4, do you have ATI or NVIDIA graphics card?

It works the same as it does in Vista (at least, it has for me) with 1.4 and 1.5. And that is perfectly, minus a few graphics problems. So yes, it is entirely possible given you take a few minutes of your time to set it up.
