Post subject: Won't Start up to Main Screen  Posted: April 26th, 2011, 8:38 pm |

Ok so I followed the instructions needed for battlezone to work on Windows 7. Problem I'm having at the moment is that it keeps telling me that it cant locate the files needed which they are installed. It happens when I click start to load the game and then it comes up saying that error. Is it because I missed a necessary step or is it that im running Windows 7 x64?

yeah i followed all of that. its just im not sure i can run it do to the version of my windows. i can run the 1.5 battlezone but i would love to do the red odyssey. unfortunately, u guys dont have red odyssey in 1.5 format yet.

Windows version is not enough to determine whether you'll be able to play BZ/RO or not. When I switch from ATI card to integrated I play BZ just fine on Win7. It's probably my fault for writing that FAQ poorly... What's the exact error message you get? BTW, for those who are less techy I made all-in-1 installer.

I think that you should be able to play it, I'm running a 64 bit windows 7, and I can play 1.4 and 1.5 just fine. Haven't tried RO though, but I assume it'd work for me since 1.4 does.

the error i get says "Sorry, unable to find required files to run. Please check your working directory or reinstall the game." I have no idea what im doing wrong.

Oh I got that error once before... I can't remember what I did to fix it though... Have you tried reinstalling? Often does nothing, but sometimes it can be a magical fix. Haha. Did you change the install directory?

yeah when i installed it. i installed it to the D drive instead of the C drive which my windows is on

Hmm. Have you tried running BZ in XP compatibility mode? If that and reinstalling don't do anything, I'm at a loss. What program folder is it installed in? "Program Files" or "Program Files (x86)"? And just to clear things up, 1.5 works, but 1.4 BZ and RO do not work?

oh yeah 1.5 battlezone works fine. i wish red odyssey though was in 1.5. then i wouldnt have any problems maybe.
