Hi there, you're much more likely to be able to contact me if you add littlemisscuddles over Xfire, or something, as I don't really frequent the forum. That said, I had no problems with screenshots, XIG, video or broadcasts, and I broadcasted a complete runthrough of every mission in the game without any issues. I just tried a broadcast about ten minutes ago, and had no problems there, either. I'm afraid I can't really provide a lot of information about my computer, as I'm not terribly hardware savvy, but I do know that I have an "ATI Radeon Mobility HD 3870" and that I'm running Windows XP. My Render.cfg info is: Code: [NormalView] VisibilityScale=150 HiRes=1
[Debug] TrackFPS=1
[D3D] TripleBuffer=0 ZBuffer=0 MipMaps=1 LargeAssets=1 PreLoad=0 loadsprites=0 halftexel=1 alpha=1 SplitZBuffer=1
I'm absolutely certain there can't be an issue broadcasting games in the "Other" category, as I tend to broadcast them daily (Touhou, SNES + Megadrive games, as well as pre-95 games) and have noticed no difference to quality or results!

That looks like the render configuration for BZ 1.4. Try broadcasting BZ 1.5. Does it work? I am not an Xfire user right now, so I don't actually know much about the program, I just want to make sure that you are talking about the same version of the game. (1.5)

Hum, I'm definitely running 1.5 while I broadcast (since 1.4 didn't work at all) but since I have both installed in separate locations I'll find that and copy the cfg... EDIT: Found it! Code: [NormalView] VisibilityScale=150 HiRes=1
[Debug] TrackFPS=1
[D3D] ZBuffer=0 Alpha=1 Texture16=1 HalfTexel=1 TripleBuffer=0 SplitZBuffer=0 MipMaps=1 PreLoad=0 LargeAssets=1 LoadSprites=0 Buffer32=1 Vsync=1 MaxAnisotropy=16 MultiSampleType=0 MultiSampleQuality=0 HardwareClip=0

Why you people think render.cfg from BZ matters to Xfire?

Xfire hooks itself into the game that's running, so settings on unsupported games do tend to matter!

Oh really? So Z-buffer, which is locked ON in 1.5, when set OFF by you, somehow allows Xfire broadcast?

Hum, did I post up 1.4 again, or something? I don't know which settings matter, if I'm honest. It didn't take me long to get BZ with Xfire up and running with the xfire_games.ini entry in the first post, and I didn't think anyone else would have any problem doing the same. I didn't specficially change anything to get it working, but figured my settings file would help other people notice any differences. If there's some specific information that'd help other people get it up and running with XIG then I'm more than happy to provide anything I know (or can easily find out, for that matter). Just trying to help, here!

What are you broadcasting, 1.4 or 1.5 games? People broadcast Quake 1 and 2 all the time without altering default render settings for xfire.

Just trying to help, here! I'm simply saying that I can't possibly see how render.cfg from BZ can impact on Xfire, especially since you are suggesting to turn Z-buffer OFF, which is locked ON in the code (you can turn it OFF but it will still be ON). Why don't you instead write step-by step Xfire broadcasting tutorial? I followed your tips and this guide, but couldn't make it work. Issue I'm having is I can't launch BZ from Xfire, since it's not supported by them, and when I do it manually I can't start recording (pressing scroll lock + B does nothing). For the record, I managed to broadcast one other game just fine. After reading this Quote: Broadcasting live video is hard on your computer - if you are having trouble playing your game, set the recording size to half-size and do not broadcast sound. and knowing it also uses bandwidth, I doubt Xfire would be good for anything other than SP broadcast.

ok, you say you can broadcast fine, but have you had confirmation from someone watching your broadcast that it works? when i attempt to broadcast it appears to be working fine but in actual fact it's broadcasting a blank screen with no sound. EDIT: i've managed to get around Xfire's blocking, i had to put Battlezone into the Xfire_games.ini rather than the dev_games.ini file to allow broadcasting as well as having to use the ID# of a game that xfire supports, in this case, i've got it using Battlefield 2 Demo's ID: original text: Code: [4398] LongName=Battlefield 2 Demo ShortName=bf2dem LauncherDirKey=HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Electronic Arts\EA Games\Battlefield 2 Demo\InstallDir LauncherExe=BF2.exe Launch=%UA_LAUNCHER_EXE_PATH% +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 %UA_LAUNCHER_EXTRA_ARGS% %UA_LAUNCHER_NETWORK_ARGS% ServerStatusType=BF2 InGameRenderer=D3D9 InGameFlags=DISABLE_RELEASE|BLOCK_ASYNC|USE_PRESENT|USE_SWAPCHAIN|ENABLE_MOUSE|USE_DINPUT_MOUSE ExcludeIPPorts=29900,29901,29902,29903,29904 GameClientDataType=BF2 RunElevated=1 modified: Code: [4398] LongName=Battlezone ShortName=bznd LauncherExe=bzone_d3d9.exe Launch=%UA_LAUNCHER_EXE_PATH% %UA_LAUNCHER_EXTRA_ARGS% %UA_LAUNCHER_NETWORK_ARGS% InGameRenderer=D3D9 InGameFlags=USE_PRESENT|ENABLE_MOUSE|DISABLE_RELEASE RunElevated=1 also, don't try broadcasting if you have limited bandwidth... (dialup) note also(i think) that this will cause your play hours to be recorded under Battlefield 2 Demo in your account, if that matters to you...

Quote: you say you can broadcast fine, but have you had confirmation from someone watching your broadcast that it works? I had around 15 constant viewers on my singleplayer run of the game, and no complaints in the chat (well, after lowering my broadcast quality from Highest to Higher, anyway), so I'd assume it works, yep. Quote: EDIT: i've managed to get around Xfire's blocking, i had to put Battlezone into the Xfire_games.ini rather than the dev_games.ini file to allow broadcasting as well as having to use the ID# of a game that xfire supports Yeah, nobody uses the dev_games.ini file any more as it's waaay too broken now, and just ends up causing more problems than it's worth. Did you have issues using the last number in the list +1 (6293 in my case, excluding the other custom games)?
